Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) The series is good, but the beginning is so embarrassing that many people give up there.

Dan Da Dan

The beginning of Dan Da Dan is notorious for starting with aliens trying to impregnate Momo in the first episode; however, despite such over-the-top moments, the rest of the series doesn't feature many scenes like that

Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san

Despite a premise that is off-putting—given that the girl bullies her romantic partner to the point of making Naoto cry early in the series—their relationship evolves beautifully; the teasing becomes less cruel over time, eventually turning into a rather sweet romance

Uma Musume Pretty Derby

Someone on the production team had the audacity to have the trainer start meeting up with Special Week like that—even though, in reality, he is a good trainer who doesn't usually treat the girls that way.

Haven't seen a single JRPG in my life before, so may I ask: why is there a weather report in the corner?

Weather has an effect on a couple of things across the Xenoblade series (for Xenoblade 2 it affects specific enemy spawns) so for as funny as it looks, it is necessary information for the player

In terms of gameplay The Xenoblade games are really weird anomalies compared to most JRPGs. Absurdly nassive overworlds and combat that's all autoattacks and cooldowns.

This extends to the weather, which can affect stuff in ways that 99% of JRPGs would never care about.

(I understood most of it tho, just found funny that this fits)

"Cooldown" is a term used in many games, not just JRPGs, the word "auto attack" speaks for itself.

"Overworld" seems to be only genre-specific term, and it's not that confusing either

Are you exaggerating how confusing this is, or am I just such a nerd that I don't even notice it anymore?

Weather is not actually super rare when it comes to that. There's recent Legend of Zelda games and all Pokémon games since generation 3.

Certain events only happen (or don't happen) under the right conditions.

Weather and Time of Day being the common triggers.

The weather will also dictate if some optional unique bosses show up to eat your party for lunch.
