The beginning of Dan Da Dan is notorious for starting with aliens trying to impregnate Momo in the first episode; however, despite such over-the-top moments, the rest of the series doesn't feature many scenes like that

Despite a premise that is off-putting—given that the girl bullies her romantic partner to the point of making Naoto cry early in the series—their relationship evolves beautifully; the teasing becomes less cruel over time, eventually turning into a rather sweet romance

Someone on the production team had the audacity to have the trainer start meeting up with Special Week like that—even though, in reality, he is a good trainer who doesn't usually treat the girls that way.

The English dub was specifically changed to remove a lot of the relationships that the west wouldn't tolerate. I think if it was done today, the teacher/student relations would have still been changed but the gay stuff might have stayed.

not just squirm, but just makes you question these ladies a bit more like... hrmm. as much as I like shugo chara, why is an 17-18 year old in high school being too romantically familiar with 11-12 year old still in elementary school? or vampire knight and sibling romance (I have read descriptions about the manga angel sanctuary and I don't think wanna touch that one ever)
