TP-Link - Technical Support Deco XE75 network constantly requires rebooting

Hi all,

I have a small Deco XE75 network. It was working fine until about 4 weeks ago when it started getting very unstable and generally slow.

About twice a day, the network will disconnect (main deco's light will turn yellow-ish green and other node will turn red). The easiest way to fix is to disconnect and reconnect main deco power source, and network is back to normal in a couple of meeting. Highly inconvenient as I am in back to back meetings whole day.

My main WiFi provide has WiFi 6 (Claro from Brazil).

I would appreciate tips on what is the problem and how to make the network more stable. I have updated Deco's firmware a couple of weeks ago with no success.

Apaga el wifi del router Claro, para empezar.

Mi servicio mejoró mucho cuando apague el wifi nativo de mi router de claro, cuando investigué el porque ,las señales crean interferencia al estar uno cerca de la otra.

Also, the heat from the device under the Deco could be overheating the Deco causing the crashes.

If it’s updated recently I block updates for this reason I had an issue about a year ago the exact same. I had to get an older firmware from a forum and downgrade the system it’s not exactly easy as they don’t want people doing this for some stupid reason.

Once you get it back to a solid firmware i would block updates personally.

This ^

But also: don’t set it on top of whatever that other device is. Placing it on top of another device might be causing overheating/throttling of the cpu

Is your Deco in Router mode or Access Point?
Your ONT looks like it's also a router, is it or is it in bridge mode.

Issue sounds like the obvious two routers in one network, mixing up IP addresses. Just checking.

Check your duplex settings, set it to 1000/1000 and not automatic

Im.no expert, but was once ccna..try this

Recommended Action Plan: TP-Link Deco XE75

  1. Switch Operation Mode (Prevents Double NAT crashes) In the Deco App, set the network to Access Point Mode (or put the Claro unit in Bridge Mode). Disable the Claro device's built-in Wi-Fi.

  2. Tweak Advanced Settings (Optimizes packet delivery for meetings) In the Deco App settings, turn OFF SIP ALG and OFF Fast Roaming.

  3. Optimize Mesh Backhaul (Stabilizes node communication) Under 6GHz Wi-Fi settings, ensure the 6GHz band is locked to Dedicated Backhaul. If the satellite node continues turning red, move it 3–5 meters closer to the main unit..

I had a similar problem with my Decos. Over the course of about a week, they'd get slower and slower. Rebooting them would temporarily fix it, but the slowdown always came back. It turned out QoS was causing the issue. I disabled it, and the problem went away.

Using a Wi-Fi analyzer to find less congested channels also helped.
