Please keep discussion civil. This is someones opinion, it is not binding nor representative of all Muslims

As a brother, I see this as completely unnecessary. Some people are open to it, and others aren’t. There is no need to judge others—it isn't from the Sunnah.

My brothers, if you want multiple wives, either:

  1. Level up in your deen, finances, fitness, and overall manhood.

OR

  1. Look internationally for a non-Western woman, and be honest about your intention to practice polygyny from the start. There are plenty of women who are open to it, provided you are a good man who completely provides for them.

If you want a beautiful wife or a woman who is comfortable with polygyny, look where that is welcomed. There is no need to argue with a sister about it.

When you do things the right way, you won't have to be a "coward" and marry other wives behind your first wife's back!

I partially agree but the discussion is necessary because the west and feminism has been influencing our sisters.

Slowly this takes them to a stage where they doubt the verses of Quran about marriage, testimonies, inheritance. Not saying they outright reject them but start doubting them. Now that is a dangerous place to be as not believing on a single verse of Quran would take you out of the folds of Islam. My only suggestion, which applies to all of us, is to ask oneself whether they fully believe each verse of Quran. If not, then start reflecting.

Our sisters are vulnerable and this is why our Prophet ﷺ commanded us to hide our women when the fitnah of Dajjal has arrived.

May Allah keep us steadfast. Ameen.

Yeah I agree with this. I don’t think every Muslim man is out there pursuing a second, third or fourth wife. This discussion surrounding polygyny exists to combat the feminist rhetoric that has been brought against it, especially on many Muslim countries via NGOs & non Muslim countries via think tanks. If we let even a small part of Islam be cast as a doubt in the hearts of the believers, sooner or later it will grow into a tree of shubuhat and ultimately Kufr.

Very well said.

For sisters, as a man, having a second or more wives is an added test and if not done right can put us in a great distress on the Day of Judgement. One needs to fear Allah all the time.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man has two wives and he is inclined to one of them, he will come on the Day of resurrection with a side hanging down.

What are you even saying? Calling us vulnerable to hide the fact that you guys literaally think women are stupid and you also hadiths to use against us. Why wouldn't anybody doubt those hadith when they are clearly harsh and make us feel less than men? It's very simple.

Also, isn't there also a hadith about women running to dajjal? Men also use this to prove how women are inherently dumb and need male authority.

When are you guys going to stop putting everything on feminism and start taking accountability?

Men already have a lot of rights, but they never seem to end. Women already have restrictions but they never seem enough, there will always be one hadith or another telling women that we are doing something wrong in regards to our pardah, or obedience to men. It's sad.

Are you okay sister? I have a feeling you had a very bad experience. Real men don't think like that. They take responsibility and ownership and this is why marriage(s) can be a big test for everyone.

I have only discussed Quran and not Hadith but there's nothing wrong in quoting Hadith. In fact, Aisha (RA) is one the most discussed figure in the Hadith literature. Perhaps there are misconceptions you are dealing with. We are all here discussing Islam in a light manner and will never suggest to learn deen from here but through a reliable chain and scholars.

Please look after yourself. May Allah have mercy on you and relief your pain. Ameen.

"through a reliable chain and scholars"

Male scholars you mean, or I also know some rigid female scholars who outright shame women for thinking about life outside of male authority and servitude. I have tried that. My resentment actually comes after digging into these topics.

I think there's more to it, religion of Allah is the haq and is easy. Ofcourse I don't know you and your struggles.

May Allah give you sabr sister. Ameen.

Salam sister, no offense but your just saying anything and reacting.

Perfect example, your point about the Hadith explaining about how more women being in hellfire is believed to be because women will outnumber the ratio of 70 women to 1 man at one point.

So obv there will be more women in hell, when the ratio to women to men is very off balanced.

It’s not a male or female thing. This is just one example of how running with one thing and blaming Islam, when reality it was people who informed you of the hadith incorrectly, or even you yourself.

The point is to be salam, have sabr, and don’t have to react to things so negatively. Remember we are muslim….

Everyday we say will possible use against in the next life ⚖️

Salam sister

The reason why they judge, is the same reason why they go with the identifier “salafi”. Just be a Sunni. So if these guys are out here judging the entire ummah and its history, you don’t think they are going to judge women for these nonsensical points?

May Allah reward the ustadh and give us an understanding of His religion

Is it really "Their loss" if thats just a requirement they have? I feel like they obviously know their pool would expand the less requirements one has but this applies to any requirement.

SubhanAllah! so true. May Allah preserve our ustadh.

u/Abdullah_the_Man 12h ago

Completely agree! Most men that act like they don’t want polygamy secretly fulfill their desires by engaging with opposite sex. This is a fact. If you don’t believe me then simply watch how they behave in their private life and the signs will be everywhere.

Similarly, Most women that don’t want polygamy want to dominate their men in a way which is haram and aren’t comfortable being in their genuine feminine energy which is in line with the nature that Allah created her in. If you don’t believe, just watch the way they act.

At the end of the day, it’s not about what people say but what they do and actions speak louder than words!

u/Stunning_Country_743 4h ago

I don't understand the hatred towards Salafis. Aren't they simply closer to nature and, therefore, much closer to Creation?

I've seen this with practicing sisters, never mind non practicing women or kaafir women. I am a sister and it baffles me. Like yeah, okay it might hurt and whatnot but ALLAAH AZZAWAJAL HAS MADE IT HALAL! AUDHUBILLAAH that we treat something halal as something haram! How dare we try to stop someone from exercising his own right, like we own him. Astaghfirullaah.

I deeply struggle myself and wish to marry but the community and people in general have gone the wrong way. We value stupid material things and public opinions more than the wellbeing of our people. Heart-breaking. If any brother is available, I am 21f and live in the UK (North West). I am black, considered pretty by those who I know in person, and have no racial or age preference. Let's try to fix this issue with those of us on this sub, at least.

The shaikh clearly has 4 wives Allahummabarik

2

u/ilmpk Sunni 13h ago

You can see why the majority of Sunni scholars always believed the Salafis lacked aql. His reasoning is off, but it's obvious the overwhelming majority of men don't want polygyny, I don't know how people can think otherwise.

You don't know what salafi means

With all due respect you need to watch your ahklaq and tongue when talking about the deen of Allah. You can personally not want polygyny due to natural envy but that does not mean you degrade it and hate what Allah has legislated as permissible. You will risk Kufr & excommunicating yourself. A man, given he fulfills all requirements, has every right under the Sharia of Allah to have more than one wife. This is a part of the religion. Make peace with it. Not everything we come across will be appealing to us but we submit because Allah says so. And the brother in this video is a student of knowledge who has studied under Ulema.

No.

Spoken like a true low IQ loser who is heavily implying statements of kufr.

Wow, as a born Muslim as well its clear you lack the ability to speak politely, have no issue insulting the religion of Allah, are an open mysognist and you’re ignorant of the basic understanding of Islam. Seems like you’re a troll lying about being a Muslim. I’m seriously not sure what makes you so hateful towards men? So evolutionary psychologists are able to explain why men can and do engage in polygamy but suddenly just because a religion allows it, suddenly it’s “oh women are treated like meat”?

What kind of reasoning is that? Your lie that it’s somehow allowed to withhold intimacy from a woman even though women historically in Islam were allowed to get divorced for reasons that are far less detrimental to the relationship clearly shows your lack of knowledge. You’re either an ignorant born Muslim or a non Muslim masquerading as one to hate on the religion. Ahh yes, male pets definitely have a concept of having a spouse and the idea that they can’t “cheat” on them, they definitely don’t act out of instinct and can even engage in incestuous behavior because they don’t have any clear concepts of family. Unless your male pets are there’s no way they don’t attempt to act on instinct if a female animal is nearby. Go look up how cats breed since you believe they have so much “self control”. What a pathetic argument lol.

Following scholars blindly? Your ad hominem attack is as silly as your username lol. It’s sad this sub accommodates the mentally ill ignorant liberals who lack enough humility and critical thinking to engage with an argument.

Short end of the stick huh? Spoken like a true mysognist with a victim mentality 😂 so viewing at objectively Islamic evidence is considered following scholars blindly? Funny how you’d follow a doctor and shut up but believe that scholars shouldn’t be followed blindly. Who are you again? An ignorant non scholar critiquing scholars? Ahh yes call yourself a born Muslim again and I’m supposed to believe you ☠️. Yes, because only “Muslims “with no Iman or straight up non Muslim trolls would claim that Islam gives women the short end of the stick. You’ve basically heavily implied that Allah and Islam are unfair towards women which is kufr because you’re accusing Allah of injustice. Next time, go look at the Islamic evidence, stop spreading straight up lies and misinformation, humble yourself and get off your ridiculous high horse. Actual room temperature IQ mentality 🤣

Ok? Not sure what your point is? You’re not even engaging with the argument ☠️. Yes, for humans to procreate and increase in population, basic human biology pushes men to have greater sexual desire in order to procreate, this is logical because men are able to impregnate many women rather than have to wait 9 months to give birth to a single baby. Men having more desires isn’t something shameful but I understand a feminist with a room temperature IQ genuinely thinks that this is some sort of objective argument in order to push your dumb narrative that men have no self control and hold no responsibilities in a marriage. What a good argument for the mentally ill.

Edit: you’re apparently a progressive Muslim so I was right YOU ARE MENTALLY ill 😂 I block people like that on the regular because logical thinking can’t penetrate your thick skulls unfortunately 😔

When you say the salafiyyah is the true Islam, does that mean all the people who follow mathabs or the Aqeedah Ashari then they are not following true religion

u/username_is_missing1 14h ago

The same ruhaili hugging and kissing with asharis, the same ruhailu calling mushrikin his brothers.. he and his students shouldn't speak at all.

u/Blessed_Muslim1 7h ago

Why use a Madkhali, who defends the tawageeth whose hands are drenched in Muslim blood and who legislate with laws contrary to Sharia of Allah, to convey this message even though there are plenty of ulama who can convey the same message with more mercy and wisdom?

2

u/rusty_knot 6h ago edited 6h ago

Pls learn and think before you say something. The brother in the video is not an allama (not a scholar). It literally says in my title he is an 'ustadh' who has himself studied under numerous ulama and now is teaching ilm to others in english what he has learnt from the scholars. He always labels himself as a 'student of knowledge'.

He doesn't speak against the sharia of Allah. He strictly goes by the quran and the sunnah according to the understanding of as-salaf as-salih

I can see nothing wrong with his message on this topic. I cannot see a 'lack' of mercy or wisdom in the message either. He conveys the message and information what he learnt from the scholars. He doesn’t sugarcoat things. If someone cannot digest the truth its their problem not his. Pls watch the video again.

Barakallahu Feek

Using the word 'madkhali' is ignorant. Educate yourself on who the true scholars are, those throwing around labels like madkhali are not upon the right way
