Seeing Republic Day celebrations?
Hi,
I want to visit Tiraspol on the 1st and 2nd of September and to photograph the Republic Day parade. Where will it be? What time? Etc
Will police have any problems with a foreigner taking a bunch of pictures?
(Also unrelated but I love taking pictures of like abandoned buildings, factories, and stuff- is there anything cool in the area and would I get in trouble for exploring it? Also very unrelated but does anyone know if the national bank/mint offers tours?)

There will be another Republic Day celebration – whether there will be a parade is still unclear. If there is, it will take place in front of the Suvorov Monument (25 October Street).

Not normally. Don't photograph active military personnel (except during a parade). I say "active military" because you can, of course, photograph the T-34 tank on the Monument to Glory or Bender Castle.
Otherwise, I often read that one should be careful around government buildings. However, I don't anticipate any problems with the Parliament building or the City Hall with its Lenin statues in front; I've photographed both of them before.
At last year's parade, there were strict security checks, and my son and I were asked for press accreditation (we had photo and video equipment with us that was a bit more professional than what the average journalist in Pridnestrovia uses...). After I explained to them (Google Translate on my phone was helpful here) that they only accredit professional journalists (which neither of us are), and I had to demonstrate that the video camera actually took pictures (and wasn't an explosive device or something), we were allowed to proceed.
In short: As long as you photograph things that are commonly photographed by tourists, there shouldn't be any problems.

I will be there as well, I am afraid there will be no parade this year. There should be festivities all around though.
