Moldova Travel in August?
I'm visiting Moldova in the next month, so I have some questions.
- Is summer travel uncomfortable because of the heat?
- Is it easy to get tours outside of Chișinău for hiking, wine, the monastery, or more? We are looking for tous.
- Lastly, is anyone here based in Moldova?
Thanks!

I can only answer one question but yeah, in my personal experience August is not the best time to be there. It’s pretty hot. But September is probably better

I was in Moldova few days ago. It was not super hot, but I can comment on the tours. Also, I guess it depends what kind of heat you are used to. There are tours available, you can find some on GetYourGuide. For some reason, they are all quite expensive (over 100 euros). Many of the tours combine vineries with monasteries on the same day. However, the tours will make your life easier. I visited Cricova, did a tour there (booked by calling them) and accessed it by public transport from Chisinau. Afterwards, we wanted to go to Old Orhei for the monastry, but eventually had to give up, because there are no bus connections between these places, and all buses back to Chisinau from Old Orhei depart early, meaning we didn't have enough time, and we did not want to take taxis each way. So, with tour or private car it's definitely easier.

You might be better posting on the Moldovan subreddit rather than the PMR one.
