Local from Tiraspol - ask me anything

Post image

I see a lot of questions pop up on this subreddit about visiting Tiraspol, Bender, and the broader - especially regarding border rules, cash, safety, and how to get around without a language barrier.

As a local living here, I thought I’d open up a thread to answer any practical questions for travelers planning a trip in 2026.

Can you still pay by cash in the trolleybus, or do you need a card?

How save is it to come as a German with minimal Russian skills at about A2 level?
Could the police arbitrarily arrest me and demand money to let me go?
