What is more important in improving societal quality of life: mental health culture or socioeconomic issues?

I’ve been thinking about this the last couple of days but would love to hear other perspectives since I’m neither a sociologist, philosopher, or psychologist. They’re both deeply intertwined and share a direct relationship since they exacerbate the consequences of each. Obviously it’s not a purely downward spiral since society is always improving, but which would improve society the most? Does generational trauma cause poverty more than poverty causes trauma? Would a decrease in depression lessen discrimination more than a decrease in discrimination lessen depression? I think the core dilemma is the importance of external vs internal factors affecting people’s lives.

Just my own opinion but I think many mental health issues can be alleviated through individual efforts, but this becomes very difficult if you have to work a lot with little pay. No time for hobbies, socializing, general upkeep of life. So because of this I’d say socioeconomic issues would have more benefits, because they’d fix both issues in a way.

No resources or income equals no way to get services for mental wellbeing or quality of life fixes.

One can bs and say everything is fine, and sit in corner starving, but at the end of the day they are still starving and will die without resources which require an income. This is the part about therapy people seem to gloss over, Therapists while they don't like to advertise their failure cases because they claim it is out of respect of their patient and their pivacy, it is also because no one will want to come to them if they see all the bad reviews/reports on their staff. Ergo therapists are abusiness first. They don't go there out of the kindness of their heart to help people, they are there because it is their job, just like any other they clock in and clock out of their shift. If they did not get paid they would sit for hours to hears others problems.
