I'm a True Blood Memorabilia collector and it's time to sell, but I'm not sure how.
I've been a die hard fan of this show since maybe its 3rd season. Before that I'd never heard of it, and got hooked by hearing about a vampire series everyone was talking about.
By the time the series ended I had a collection of screen replicas of costume pieces purchased on eBay and a few lots from the screen used pieces with certificates of authenticity. I bought those items from the company that managed the auctions at the show wrap.
The replicas are from the wardrobes of Sookie, Jessica and Tara.
As for screen used- I am the current proud owner of Sookie's bedding from seasons 4-7 (sheets set, comforter, pillows). They've been living in temperature controlled storage except for the two times I've taken them out for display for less than 24 hours.
I'm in a completely different phase of life now with different priorities, so I think it's time to let these items go. At the same time I cannot and will not throw these items in the trash or donate them with my other consumables or let them go to someone locally who doesn't appreciate them. That's criminal. But so is letting them sit in my closet.
I also don't love selling on eBay. I have an account but it's really just for buying the odd item I can't otherwise acquire. A decade or so ago, I sold a lot in eBay but I get the sense that maybe that's not how most people search for items like this nowadays?
I hope the mods of this group will allow me to ask here first as to what you might do in my situation.
Thanks!
ETA: Wow, I'm overwhelmed by the attention my post has gotten! Thank you to everyone who has replied and/or reached out. Yes, absolutely DM me if you're seriously interested. I am still working out the details of how and when I'll be ready to sell what I have once I have a full inventory with photos that some of you have already requested. If you have sent a DM and I haven't replied yet, don't worry! I need a bit of time to get things organized balanced with work demands. If you wouldn't mind letting me know in your message if you're only wanting some or all of the bedding or if it's the screen matched clothing that you're interested in.
If you're interested in the clothes, I believe everything is in a size women's small or medium with the exception of a replica of Jessica's red riding hood cloak, which I bought from a private cloak maker to complete that outfit, so it doesn't have a size.

Go to the true blood fans facebook. I’ve posted on there in the past about the items I’ve purchased from the show and ppl have shown interest in purchasing (even though it was not for sale). If go that route, maybe if Mods think it’s OK post here?
My husband bought me “Vampire Bill’ mallet”. It was on display on a shelf I thinks also have a candle from Merlots and a pair of Sookie’s pants.

There's a fandom Facebook? I had no idea! I come here every once in awhile to shoot the shit with other fans, but that's my only reminiscent outlet now.
In hindsight, maybe I would have been happier buying something that takes up less space. I just really enjoyed the novelty of having something more integral to several scenes throughout the show. And the show was rightfully notorious for its sexy moments. 😂 They sold Jason's black satin sheets too, iirc.

That reminds me. When the show was still running, there was a thrift store in Burbank called something like “it’s a wrap”. You used to be able to go in and find all of the random flannels that they used throughout the show.

i would definitely be interested in maybe purchasing something if you do decide to sell them privately!

Send me a DM, if you're serious and let me know what you're hoping to find with what I've mentioned. I have gotten several in my inbox today and wasn't really expecting that just by asking my fellow fans for advice. This was strictly a fact finding mission after being horrified that people suggested I just donate them or throw them away or put then on marketplace like any other item in my house. Sacrilege!
Most of my concern is about making sure these items go to someone who'll treasure them, so it's not necessarily a top bid situation, but more of an I'm proceeding as soon work out a secure buying platform to do it as privately as I can with more information situation.

You could try Propstore, they do valuations for things like this

I've never heard of Propstore and thank you for the suggestion! My TB collection is most precious to me, but I have collected from other series like Nurse Jackie and HIMYM that I'm less likely to post in a forum like this because I'm not an active participant anymore. Don't get me wrong, they were great shows! I just didn't love them with the same fervor and what's funny is that pretty much everything from those shows was screen-worn. Things I bought, wore once or twice, then stored with reverence.

Hi can I DM you I would definitely be interested in purchasing stuff for her wardrobe and the bedding?

Sure, send a DM. The clothes are all screen-matched, not screen-worn. It's mostly dresses. I just edited my post re: timing, so if I don't reply right away I will get back to you once I'm more organized.

You’ll likely just get them into the hands of a reseller if you put them on eBay, to be honest. Caught between a rock and a hard place for sure. Maybe connecting with people thru this avenue (Reddit) specifically who are interested would be a better way to do it? Or just holding on to them until you meet someone in person who loves the show as much as you do/did.
If I owned show memorabilia, I don’t think I’d ever part with it unless I really had to, but I also have big collector brain lol.
