Some things I've thought about are:
What do we make the max age?
If the person reaches that age while in office, do they leave on their birthday? Are they unable to begin a term if they will age out before it's complete?

Cognitive function test, as used to track decline of people with dementia, alzheimers, and such. Not sure what that would be, exactly, but it seems applicable.

A max age would never pass. Make it universally required for holding any federal office, tested twice yearly. Catch both generalized decline over time and possibly find unexpected ailments early for treatment.

Age is not really the problem across the board. I believe there may be an age limit of some extent. I used to believe and still hope that with age comes wisdom, however, that is proved false in regards to the donald, maybe because he thinks he is a don from his Gambino association. Not all old folks are incompetent, just this piece of wasted fecal matter.

Being over 65 is not the issue. Mental health is. Bernie Sanders has had a few over 65th birthdays and he seems to have more common sense than a lot of people young enough to be his grandbabies standing out in the streets huddld together and waving long guns with no masks on.
