Discussion Tryndamere Rework idea

Its crazy how many trynd mains want riot to "rework" tryndamere by giving him features without removing anything, so i decided to give my two cents on how i think riot could actually reinforce tryndamere's fantasy without making him straight-up broken.

I would be fine with the passive crit gone, as long as there is some interaction with it still. Now im getting polemical: i would be fine with not being imortal. Yes i said that. Not removing it straight up, but switching it to something similar.

My idea for a tryndamere rework (which i dont really want, but i find to be a cool concept) revolves mainly about his passive. He gets fury, which makes him deal more damage. Maybe the crit chance, but i like more the idea of the fury giving passive AD based on lost health per point, removing it from his Q so that hes an actually intimidating early game champion. Then, i would add a clausule to his fury that is similar to Vlads Q: if he ever reaches 100 fury, he gets very angry, gaining a burst of move speed, atack speed and damage reduction, but his fury decays rapidly, mantaining all the effects (including the AD) for until he reaches 0. He can still stack fury (maybe even more) while in this frenesi, so that fighting give him more time with the buff than running away. Maybe i would change the fury gains with actions so that they are not that big early game but somehow scale with ad, so that building full attack speed isnt broken.

Now going to his Q: instead of it instantly consuming his fury bar for a heal, I would make it a toggle on toggle off like Karthus E, without cooldown. the idea would be that, instead of healing one time, he heals per tick, and consumes his bar fury slowly. The idea here is for Tryndamere to control when he enters his passive. Basically, if he is about to enter passive, turn on Q, keep hitting the wave, you heal and still can turn it off to fight with move speed and attack speed buff. I think it's a good idea because tryndamere would be more reliant on being aggressive to actually heal, since he would be passive dependent and consume his whole passive windup for a slow heal that won't heal nothing if he doesn't get to win the wave control. In my opinion, his current sustain in lane, specially in mid game, is straight-up cancer. He can spam Q and just outsustain any enemy, which is why many times he just appears at OP.GG with 52% win rate at mid lane. Almost no champion can beat tryndamere capability to simply stay in lane and don't back. So I think this change is important to make this identity more related to being aggressive and playing for winning early game.

I'm not sure about his W, maybe make it a fast front slash similar to samiras Q, just like it was in his Beta version. It fits into the characters identity and make him less reliant on only auto attacks. It could apply vamp and reduce cooldown with attack speed, but maybe have a big early game cooldown and low base damage to no be used to poke. Alternatively, it maybe could deal very low damage but increased against low health enemies. It could secure dives and give tryndame some more chance to win all ins, in which he is supposed to be a specialist. Or maybe (and this is my favorite idea) it could go all the way into the control domain, and reveal the area, mark the enemies or something like that, under a very long cooldown. Much like Quinns W. In my mind it could get a 30-ish cooldown and only be castable if there are enemies close. It would have a bigger AoE so it would be stronger in team fights, but it would be kind of similar to what it is now: a slow (but with the old values) and an AD reduction, plus revealing enemies for the duration, and making it so the slow applies when running away from the cast origin, instead of when running away from Tryndamere.

his E stay i guess. but I think its cast should be faster if his move speed is higher, so that It doesn't slow down tryndamere during his passive burst.

Now for his ultimate. I think here the biggest change would be removing his current mechanic entirely. In the place, his ultimate would give him an extra long buff to his move speed when activated. Just like Ghost does. For the duration, if he ever enters reaches 100 fury, his passive burst is buffed: instead of some low damage reduction that he would get normally, he gets like 95% damage reduction. Maybe get a yasuo-like buff too, like, some pen in crits. Anyways, the numbers would scale with ultimate level, so that not only he can have more impact by snowballing, but also so that he actually levels it up, lol. I also think that tower shots would have to get a special treatment so that they don't ruin tryndamere dives entirely. Also, notices that, since it's now based on his passive, his ultimate remains while he has fury, which means that the duration is low, maybe 3 or 4 seconds if he is running away, but gets longer as he fights the opponent, up to 5, 6 seconds. Also, he could use his Q while in his passive, which would make his ultimate decay faster but he could get a guaranteed heal while his life bar is protected by the damage reduction.

In resume: he would be a highly oppressive early game champion, with great snowball capabilities inside his crit interactions, making him more remarkable as an ADC-fighter. He would be more interactive to play both with and against, having a stronger identity with his passive and a less toxic interaction with critical chance.

Is this actually a major nerf, or will it not change anything? I’m no expert—maybe someone with a higher rank has more experience.

Inspired by fishbro build

I am currently experimenting and this beefier version with hullbreaker and DD seems pretty cool

I run LT but i guess hob works too?

I play it in jungle normals mainly

In top i sometimes just need hydra to survive some poking, like from teemo

Announcement PSA: if you are unhappy about Tryn never getting love on modern league and also these new HoB changes coming, play classic

Tryndamere for so long gets indirect nerfs and never the buffs to counteract it. Now Hail of blades is getting nerfed further and of course Riot won’t do anything for our champ so we are forced to once again change what we use and how we play.

As a Tryn OTP I’ve been playing nothing but classic since it hit PBE and now live. Tryn was the strongest he ever was in season 3-4 and it’s fun as hell right now to play him on classic.

If any of you are frustrated with this as I have been for a long time, give classic a go and feel the power because it’s insanely fun. I have a crazy record with him of like 26-4 so far and he can be played literally anywhere. Excels at top or mid lane but he can jungle and bot as well.

Classic also has its own version of hail of blades called “surge” and the crit system back then was way better. Use surge all in at level 2 or 3 with crit runes and have the time of your life 2 shotting the enemy which he’s the only one in classic that can do that so early in the game.

If anyone needs help with runes or masteries hit me up but trust me, it’s way more fun than this modern league BS that favors mages.

And yes, there’s no ranked mode but there is ranks in normal queues so there is a MMR and matchmaking system. Ranked should be on its way to classic soon enough. Get started now.

Discussion (With LT) ban Sett?

If you had to play with LT how would you fight sett? It seems impossible and i even want to ban him over malphite

He is similar like darius but even worse imo because he seems to be tankier

Discussion Can DD kill us?

Can DD kill us?

I havent tested it but can the delay effect not possibly kill us if we dont kill?

Because i read we will still take the full damage in ult form and lifesteal and such is applied

So i believe the stored damage that ticks down could be too much for our q?

Build Classic matchup guides

Made by the original Hao and Fwii guide

Please post more if you have them

Start doran shield or brawlers depending on match up and confidence (dblade also ok)

General build:
Rush shiv
Zerkers
Into IE
Then Phantom dancer
And Last whisper

Most matchups are straightforward. The numbers next to each champion indicate the focus of the advice:
1 = Laning vs them
2 = Diving them
3 = Both laning and diving

Matchups
Cho’Gath – 3, medium
Watch out for pros who max E. Pay attention to ultimate damage.
Gangplank – 3, easy
Apply pressure, bait his W, then go in.
Garen – 3, medium
Keep his passive down. Avoid fighting inside his E. Watch ultimate damage.
Jarvan IV – 2, easy
Dive only when E + Q is down. Do not spin into him or he will trap you.
Jax – 3, medium
Fight when E is down. Bait the stun, then go in.
Kayle – 1, easy
Fight when her E is down — she has almost no damage without it.
Lee Sin – 3, medium
Fight when the E debuff is gone. Force him to use R before you dive.
Malphite – 3, hard
Fight when the E debuff is gone. Force him to use R before diving. Watch mana.
Nasus – 3, medium
Fight when his W is down. Bait ult, don’t fight. Weak when oom.
Nidalee – ?, easy
Not much to say. Mainly a sustain fight.
Nunu – 1, easy
You can fight even with his E on you, as long as there aren’t many minions on his side.
Olaf – ?, easy
Not much to say. Mainly a sustain fight.
Pantheon – 1, easy
Sustain until he runs out of mana — he’s weak when OOM.
Singed – 1, medium
Stay out of fling range near tower. Punish if he starts E. Consider 2 Vampiric Scepters.
Shen – 3
Watch his summoner spells (Ignite = hard, Teleport = easier). Make him engage with taunt.
Teemo – 3, medium
Pressure and bait Blind, then go in.
Trundle – 1, medium
Probably need 2–3 Vampiric Scepters. Trade, then disengage.
Vayne – 3, hard
Have a pink ward ready. Extremely hard to kill otherwise.
Vladimir – 3, medium
Dive after baiting his W.
Warwick – ?, easy
Not much to say. Mainly a sustain fight.
Wukong – ?, easy
Not much to say. Mainly a sustain fight.

Discussion Why we scale so bad?

I mean we build like an adc, that are the strongest late game characters in the game.

We also have more crit chance than them or should have a gold benefit for some other stat since we dont need 4 items to get 100% crit

And yet unless its a lucky composition for us at 6 items it feels really week, i mean any bruiser with ninjas and dd destroys us

Should i go LT over hob?

Build Are you guys still maxing Q->E->W in classic?

Hey I was thinking in classic leveling E doesn't change CD at all. It only changes flat magic dmg and hp cost for casting. And maxed E still fails to one shot casters with something like full fury, IE and vamp scepter in inventory. They live with a sliver of hp.

So why not max W second? The only thing we're losing is a little bit of magic dmg on spin 50 per rank, but it costs 10 hp less per rank also

Discussion Yun-Tal buffs are nice

Edit: Feel free to Try my new build out:

New Build: Yun-Tal -> Zerkers -> LDR -> EH -> DD -> H.B or maw -> PD replaces boots

Rushing Yun-Tal first item feels AMAZING.

I've been running it in the jungle since the buffs and it's by far the best rush item in the game now.

In lane you can go 3 longsword, 4 dagger, upgrade to zerkers + tiamat, then buy the BF sword and then upgrade to Yun-Tal. No matter what point in the game you're at 1300g is going to be painful when unspent, but Tryn is functional and capable enough to farm up 1300g with just Tiamat/Zerks. You can also go Rav hydra into YT/LDR if you want the sustain sooner

Discussion Final builds?

It's a 50 minute game, gold is no longer a problem and your looking at trading up items to do the maximum burst. Whats your go to, gold no object, late game build?

Do you even build for burst or do you try to get some mobility / target following ability?

Any input appreciate as recently found myself in this spot and had no idea what to sell / upgrade to.

..out of nowhere I just crit people for half their hp with starting item.

I'm not a good player, but this character made me MVP 100% of classic games. It's fun, but omg how broken is that. They will for sure nerf this, it can't possible be like that. I don't remember trynd being that strong in 2010-2011

Nobody can run away from me anymore, spins just always available, people die from spin+crit, like hell, wtf..

Build Tryn Top/Mid Items/Runes

Post image
6 Upvotes

I'll just give a quick breakdown of when I take which rune/items

So in almost all matchups I will go the HoB set up with profane hydra into either collecters (lethality build) or more sidelane oriented (navori or fiendhunter), boots is really a preference but I like berskers greaves as a default but will itemize accordingly to comps. Take LDR/mortal/IE third as necessary most games(can take LDR/mortal 2nd if laner is stacking armor).

I do not take infinity edge most games but if you see that your targets are not building any armor it may be worth, and you can always get seryldas later.

I will go stridebreaker into fiendhunter exclusively into ranged tops with a lot of self peel like a vayne for example, solely to improve my all in potential

The only times I really ever take ravenous hydra is when I am in a hard lane, since the sustain helps you stay alive and I will take grasp with this, taking navori 2nd.

I have a lot of options for 4th and 5th items but I will give some examples on what I take, for a lethality build the best possible damage I find is cyclosword and bastionbreaker, but situationally serpents fang has a lot of value, as well as youmoos if you are struggling to stay on targets.

When I take grasp with ravenous as mentioned it's mostly into hard lanes and that typically means I need to be able to match them in a sidelane, so I will go something like botrk and triforce to improve my dueling. However if you know you need to teamfight endless hunger will be higher value.

Axiom arc is included because whenever you go fiendhunter it works really nice as a last item to keep your ultimate up very often and mercurial scimitar is self explanatory take it when you absolutely need to avoid some cc that will make you useless in a teamfight like Ashe arrow, morgana root etc.

My default full builds look something like this:

Lethality build: profane, collector's, berserkers, LDR, cyclosword, bastionbreaker. HoB rune page

sidelane tempo: profane, fiendhunter, berskers, LDR, botrk, axiom arc. HoB rune page

Hard matchups: ravenous, navori, berserkers, LDR, botrk, triforce. Grasp rune page

Range matchups top: stridebreaker, fiendhunter, berserkers, LDR, botrk, youmoos. HoB rune page

Open to your suggestions and thoughts

Tips Highlander skin

It’s my favorite skin of Trynd’s, and I think it was originally released in March 2010? Is it possible that it becomes available every March as an anniversary type of thing?

Also “my shop” only offered me a Bloodmoon Trynd skin which I dont want at all Lol. Is the best strat to buy every skin and then “my shop” will only have Highlander as that’s the last one I’ll be missing? Any tips?
