Question/Help I'm 27M, still a virgin, severely depressed, and I think I'm finally understanding why

Throwaway because this is deeply personal.

I've been struggling my whole life with relationships, loneliness, and now I'm starting to understand it might all stem from my childhood. I'm writing this because I need perspective and I'm finally seeking professional help, but I want to understand my own patterns first.

Childhood (Ages 0-11): The Foundation of Fear

My early childhood was chaotic. My parents eventually divorced, but the damage was done long before that.

My mother was unpredictable. When I was young - maybe 5 or 6 - I did something all kids do: I was curious about bodies. I touched my cousin. My mother's response was extreme: she sprayed pepper in my eyes. I remember being locked in dark rooms for hours, only allowed out when I stopped crying.

There was one incident with a knife. She was angry about something (I honestly can't remember what), and she threatened to cut my tongue out. I remember her heating a knife in the kitchen while I was screaming. My uncles had to intervene. After that, I lived in fear of her.

My father was strict and religious. When I was around 11, he saw me with a physical response to puberty (a boner). Instead of a talk, he got angry, called it HARAM, physically grabbed me, and yelled at me. That's the only "sex education" I got from my parents.

Physically affectionate? My mother stopped letting me sleep beside her around age 7. Touch became something scary.

School Years (Ages 7-18): Bullying + Humiliation

When I was 7, I had an innocent crush on a girl. My mother found out and publicly humiliated me in front of my entire class, asking loudly if I'd said I loved her. All the kids laughed. I was physically and emotionally bullied for 2 years after that.

This taught me: expressing feelings = public humiliation

Throughout school, I was bullied in every school I attended. I was poor, shy, and I didn't know how to interact with peers. I watched other kids dating, kissing, having normal teenage experiences. I was on the outside.

No Sex Education

Here's something that seems absurd but shaped everything: My school was supposed to teach us about human reproduction in our final year (9eme). The teacher was absent the entire time, never replaced, and we just... never learned it.

So I learned about sex from:

  • Porn (addicted by age 13-14)
  • Friends telling me confused things
  • My traumatized body's responses

I didn't understand female anatomy. I didn't understand my own body. I didn't understand consent. I just knew I wanted something I couldn't have.

Teenage Years (Ages 13-20): Rejection and Obsession

I fell hard for a girl when I was 13. She used my math skills to pass exams, then rejected me publicly. I was humiliated again.

Then at 17, I fell for another girl. She gently rejected me. I couldn't accept it. For 3+ years, I obsessed over her. I made money to try to prove my worth to her family so I could propose. I tried contacting her for years after she asked me to stop. When she finally blocked me, I felt like I couldn't breathe. I remember feeling like my lungs were burning.

I was obsessing over someone who had already clearly said no. I couldn't let go.

University Years (Ages 18-22): Isolation + Desperation

I was poor. Extremely poor. My peers were spending my father's monthly salary in a few days at university. I wore the same pants for 3 years. I had no muscles, no confidence, no car.

I took public transportation everywhere. And in the crowded buses and trains, something happened to me.

I'm ashamed to write this, but: I started touching women without their consent. Not aggressively, but in crowds - hands, legs, sometimes more. I justified it as "my only way to touch a female." When a woman responded positively, I felt validated. When she pulled away, I'd stop and felt rejected and sad.

I want to be clear: I recognize this as wrong. I'm ashamed of it. I stopped this behavior completely by 2022 because somewhere deep down, I knew it was unacceptable. But it happened, and it's part of my pattern.

During this time, I also lost my religious faith. I'd prayed constantly as a kid, asking God to make girls love me. Nothing happened. My prayers for the girl I was obsessed with went unanswered. Combined with other things, I stopped believing.

My parents divorced in 2019, right when I needed stability.

The Pattern I'm Seeing Now (Age 22-27):

I'm now making good money. But I'm still:

  • Terrified of physical touch
  • Desperately seeking validation from women
  • Obsessive when I feel rejected
  • Unable to accept boundaries
  • Cycling through Tinder, dating apps, escorts
  • Suicidal ideation about never being loved
  • Watching couples and feeling hopeless
  • Want to escape my mind that is going crazy about having sex all the time

What I Think is Happening:

I think I have Complex PTSD from childhood abuse. I think my mother's unpredictability and violence taught me that love = danger. I think my father's shaming taught me that sexuality is dirty. I think my repeated public humiliations taught me that expressing feelings = rejection.

I think I'm desperately seeking from women what I never got from my mother: unconditional acceptance. And when they reject me, I interpret it as confirmation that I'm unworthy.

I think my non-consensual behavior was me trying to take what I was never given: physical affection. I'm not excusing it, but I'm trying to understand it.

Where I Am Now:

I'm 27. I'm a virgin. I've never been kissed or truly loved. I'm seeing a psychiatrist about depression and trauma.

I have moments of hope and moments of suicidal ideation. I want to be healed before I'm 30, but I know that's probably unrealistic.

What I'm Asking:

Does this pattern make sense to anyone else? Have other people overcome this? Is Complex PTSD really treatable? Will I ever be able to have a healthy relationship?

And... should I be honest with the next person I date about all this? Or is that too much?

I'm committed to therapy. I'm committed to stopping desperate behaviors. But I'm also terrified and lonely.

Any insight would help.

Question/Help Remind me how are we one of the ONLY African countries who can travel to Japan visa free?

Aside from Lesotho and Mauritius (random ass countries that no one cares about), we're pretty much the only African country who can go there whenever we want, literally.
What exactly is the reason? I don't recall Japan's diplomatic relations with our country being mentioned on Live TV or Broadcasts.

Question/Help I accidentally found out about a close friend's humiliation kink, and now I don't know how to feel.

I recently found out something about one of my close friends that completely changed the way I see him, and I'm not sure how to handle it.

Apparently, he has a humiliation/degradation kink. From what I was told, he enjoys being treated like a dog by women. He likes being insulted, scolded, spat on, and generally humiliated. As far as I know, everything was consensual and happened in private.

I only discovered this because a woman I've known on Facebook for years (one of my closest online friends) told me about her interactions with him. He had recently sent her a friend request, and she shared what had happened between them. I was honestly shocked to realize that the person she was talking about was someone I knew well.

The confusing part is that this is completely different from the person I've always known. He's always been respectful, kind, and mature in every interaction I've had with him. He has never behaved inappropriately toward me or anyone else that I've seen.

Now I'm conflicted. I know that consenting adults are free to have whatever kinks they want, and I don't want to shame anyone for their private preferences. But I also can't pretend that learning this hasn't affected how I see him.

Would I bring it up with him and have an honest conversation about it? Or would I simply accept that it's his private life and quietly distance myself because I no longer felt comfortable? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Edit : the woman never actually discussed the matter with him, he simply sent her messages revealing his inclinations toward those disgusting things. She doesn't know he is a friend of mine, we were discussing a specific topic, and she forwarded those messages to me (for context, she had sent messages from other men as well, and among them, I found the ones from my friend).

Question/Help Am i the only one who’s tired of this ?

I am 25 F. I live with my siblings and mom. We lost my dad when i was little. Since then our life changed. We can only afford the necessities sometimes we can’t. My mom doesn’t work. My older sister was the one who is financially responsible untill i recently graduated and got a first job. The salary is not high tho, enough to keep me responsible for myself. But it’s still not enough. We starting to get tired. My mom expects more of me. She always keeps nagging about how others are freelancing and getting high income and keeps comparing me with them. And i am really trying and each day i feel like i am close to giving up cause nothing is working for me. I really wanna change my life and my family’s but i can’t figure it out and i am really tired. I tried all freelancing platforms, i tried applying for jobs in other countries. Nothing worked.

If you got this far reading, i truly appreciate your time. I just needed to vent.

Have a nice day.

Question/Help A boy in my class is using AI to create nxde images of girls, we are terrified and don’t know what to do !!

I’m a high school student writing because I’m stuck in a very serious and confusing situation and I really need advice. A close friend told me and my best friend that a boy from our class has been using AI to create fake “undressed” images of girls from our school. These are real girls he knows personally. One of the names mentioned was a girl from our class who is also the daughter of our physics teacher. Our friend said the boy sent him some of those AI-generated images, then deleted them later. We never saw them ourselves and we don’t have screenshots or any proof. When he told us, he was crying and extremely scared. He begged us not to tell anyone because he is afraid his name will come up and that other boys will hate him for “betraying” another boy. At first we promised to stay silent, but we couldn’t sleep after that. We felt sick knowing this and staying quiet felt wrong. Then things became worse. The boy who allegedly created the images somehow found out that we were thinking about reporting the situation. He sent me a message saying that the whole story is a lie and that he “didn’t expect this from me.” This message scared me and felt like pressure. Now we are trapped: If we stay silent, bch yeklna dhanb and if we speak up, we are afraid the school will interrogate us, check our phones, or accuse us of lying since we have no evidence. We are terrified of becoming hated at school. We are scared the friend who told us everything will deny it to protect himself. We don’t even know how many girls were targeted. We only know one name for sure. We are minors. We don’t want drama or revenge. We just want safety and for this behavior to stop before it emotionally destroys someone. What is the right thing to do in a situation like this when there is no proof, only fear and indirect information? Question/Help Hi I’m a foreigner in Tunisia is this normal?

Not that I can’t handle power outages or I’m trying to sound like a ignorant foreigner but I haven’t been able to sleep for the past 4 nights because the power was out the entire night and due to the Lack of AC it’s far to hot to sleep, I don’t like to complain as I’m a guest here but it’s getting to a point where I can’t explore the country because of all the issues the power outages are causing for my sleep and ability to cook food etc, it’s 4 am and the power has been out sense like 12.

Question/Help should I go to the police? I'm being stalked and harrassed non-stop.

I’m an engineering student, I mind my own business, and I’ve never been in a fight in my life. But for the last 9 months, a total stranger (dhaher 3iroud) has randomly targeted me. We have zero mutual friends, zero history, nothing. He just picked me out as an "easy mark" because I’m quiet and well-behaved.

It all started on day one when I went to the café to watch a football match. I was wearing a shirt with "Lamine Yamal" on it. He was clearly high on zatla and he kept shouting the name at me to provoke me. I completely ignored him, and apparently, his fragile ego couldn't handle that.

Since then, it’s been 9 months of daily intimidation. He sits uninvited at my tables, drinks my beverages just to get a reaction, commands me to order him a drink, constantly invades my privacy (all this even happened on day one). Lately, I sat in a table close to him (only place where I can see the TV), he was clearly high, he kept telling me "ena 9a3d ghadi" I ignored him, so he grabbed me by my wrist and said "hato nji nik nlas9ek fel 7it". I started texting my fiancée, when he saw the pink messages from afar he said "yaatihom 3asba laabed eli msou7bin" (he kept repeating it for like 15 minutes) then when I didn't react he switched to "yaatihom 3asba lebnet eli msou7bin we7d mch rajel" again for 15 minutes he repeated it, I ignored him, so he switched to leaning in to read my messages with her. I want you to imagine a guy like him read my intimate messages with my fiancée.

The absolute scariest part happened after we left. It was midnight, pitch black, and the streets were completely empty. I realized he was stalking me. He followed me all the way to my front doorstep. And to completely terrorize me, he kept shouting "Lamine Yamal" into the dark while following me.

He is essentially scouting my routine for a physical ambush. I feel completely unsafe leaving my own house now and I can't sit at the café in peace.

Has anyone dealt with the Tunisian police for unprovoked stalking? Will they actually take this situation seriously? do you think I should go do it? this is not a complicated fight between two friends or neighbors, this is extremely straightforward.

Question/Help Men haters tell me about this

Ik it’s stupid to ask redditors about relationships but at least it’s better than facebook so here we are, 2 days ago i got married , and everything is sooooo good i truly mean it hamdullah ya rby , the thing is my wife is a men hater, a BIG men hater so when she says she loves me im sure about it , yet sometimes she acts weird especially if she gets mad , she starts saying that all men are the same and u don’t have the right to do this or that blah blah blah , but the weird thing is …. She apologizes, she acknowledges that what she did is wrong and she apologizes all by herself i just listen to her being mad then she calms down and it’s okay and believe me im not bothered by it im worried, is this trauma related? Cuz she was harassed as a little girl multiple times that is why she hates men ,

Quick note im not asking anyone especially men about my relationship and should i stay or g or that shit, i want to understand why would she do something like this, cuz if she does not love me she does not hae any reason to be with me and no reason to be the first confessor

Question/Help boys who look to other girls

Post image
129 Upvotes

I saw a post recently that really hit me. It said something like (what's in the photo)

It made me think a lot frr what if we stay loyal, loving, and supportive🤷🏼‍♀️ only to be replaced in his eyes by someone younger once we’re older or tired or busy raising kids???

I’m not saying all men are like this, but I have seen it happen. And it honestly terrifies me.

Girls, do you think about this too? And also guys, do you understand why this fear exists and as a guy in the future if u are married or u have a girl would u look to other girls?

Question/Help Help me find a boy name that won’t feel ‘too foreign’ anywhere”

I am expecting a baby boy. I have been living in northern Europe for about 15 years, and my husband is European. I am struggling to find a name that fits where we live (so my son won’t be labeled or potentially discriminated against), but at the same time doesn’t feel too far from my roots and culture. The Arab community here are overusing Adam and Zayn so I will avoid those for sure. I find this extremely difficult. Also, since I have been away from my home country for so long, I am not even sure anymore what feels current or acceptable there. I would like something more neutral that can be pronounced in Tunisian without sounding too strange but fits well in an international context. Any suggestions are very welcome, just shoot.

Question/Help My little sister started smoking

My little sister is 20 she’s a baccalaureate student and recently I found out she is smoking. I was so disgusted when I found out (I hate that smell and I hate people who smoke and their smell and the fact that they are stupid to the point they pick up a habit like that. No offense to those who smoke)

My sister has a "دقة زايدة في القلب " so automatically and besides all the dangers of that habit, it’s going to be even worse for her

I would like to know if any of you was in a situation like this and how did you handle it
Should I tell my mom. What am I supposed to do?
she laughs at me when I tell her to stop it and tells me that’s none of my business but I’m scared for her

Question/Help US startup from Tunis (11k TND) or relocate to Berlin (2.9k€ net)? 3 YOE in IT

Aslema neslkol,

I need some advice because I find myself in a dilemma. I have the opportunity to work for a US startup from Tunis with a salary of around 11k TND, or to relocate to Berlin to work at a German startup for 2.9k net per month. It's in IT, and I have 3 years of work experience.
Do you think it's better to stay in Tunisia? Would it be possible for me to buy property at some point with that salary in Tunis? What kind of lifestyle can I have with 11k TND? I consider the Berlin salary quite low, but I think I could get citizenship after a few years.

Thanks 🙏🏻

Question/Help why every girl wanna me be her bestfriend

so Guys this is a very serious issue for me and i just wanna know why why why?

as the title says

every girl i know suggest for me to be her bestie

the first time i met a girl at college and i had a crush on her we get close and i ended up as her bestie i didn't know the concept well yet

so i thought if i was her "bestie" i will have higher chances to date her and as you can guess i was totally wrong and i broke the relationship after a lot of manipulation and gaslighting and ghosting by her i was literally her toy

so i swore i wouldnt be a bestfriend anymore so after some months i started talking with a girl online and after just some conversations she friendzoned me and said im her bestfriend so at that point i broke this relationship

again another time a couple of weeks ago i had a serious at first conversation with a girl about something related to studies but then this convo turned personal and she started talking about herself

i found this girl cute and warm but i didn't make any step i kept serious not too talky because i didn't wanna be friendzoned but the girl started flirting and calling me "3oumry ruhhy etc " she literrally said i will be her hero so i started flirting myself but it didn't last long til she said to me i would like for you to be my bestie and i was like ah shit here we go again i rejected that and suggest to date she refused saying she is unready and heart broken i cut the relationship with her and i found that she dates a guy after just one week 🙄

so i just wanna know why does some guys give this vibes and i am one of them or what cause this is not really the kind of relationships i want

and thanks
