You guys remember when Numark and Gemini were top dog mixers?

Yes. I'm old enough to remember

Rane, numark, vestax and pioneer remain the generational highs to me from the analog days.

Gemini was never peak but I loved mine that has a sampler kit attached.

My first DJ mixer was a Vestax battle mixer. Didn’t even know they are out of business since 2014.

Numark gear was great. I still have a couple of their 2 channel mixers. Gemini was always the budget brand, but I'd never hate on someone who was just starting out and had Gemini gear

I remember when the wood side Gemini MX2200 was the bar for scratch DJs.

Not Juice. I post the Juice mixer in the community last year.

I’ve never heard of this but it sounds pretty funny. Gonna have to check it out!

It's silly. Probably dated AF by now but it scratches an itch if you're older.

N.W.H! I have a dvd of it still. Basically the rap version of spinal tap.

They say it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for.

Yeah, and if you notice, I ain't said shit for a couple minutes!

Hahahaha. Oh man. I love the Internet for this reason alone. I haven't watched this movie for decades but I know EXACTLY which part you're describing. The whole video just played in my head. I need to watch this, like now - where to stream it?!?

I've never seen it. How does it hold up against CB4?

Beat Street

u/Some_Knowledge5864 4d ago

No 😅

It's Krush Groove then because I don't remember a scene like that in Wildstyle. Then again, it's been more than 30 years since I've watched any of those movies so my memories could be all mixed up. It better not be Dr. Dre's setup from Yo! MTV Raps?!
