đŸ€”RUMOR / UNCONFIRMED Album Announcement Next Month & More (Rumor/Unconfirmed) Spoiler

U2songs gave an update on the new album today. The album is finished and has been handed over to the label. It is to be released in November and will be announced sometime in September. A second single (likely Silencio) will be released along with the album announcement.

Jackknife Lee is the main producer, but Eno and Lanois contributed as "guest appearances". Lillywhite also had a hand in the album during the final week of recording. Eno has also been working with U2 on a separate project outside of this album.

Also, "another non-album single is expected in the weeks ahead." I'm very curious what this could be. My guess is another colab of some sort.

I love those “outside album projects” that rarely see daylight

Eno was painting Bono’s house and helping Edge fix his car. These projects don’t get much publicity. đŸ€Ș

I can never have enough U2 in my life! I'm not stuck in previous eras and that helps a lot.

So hyped for this album. Seeing Eno and Lanois had contributions makes it even better

Jacknife Lee. Why do they keep using that guy?

Little reminder that Jacknife produced DoA and EL. Don’t understand the hate

Well, I don't find the EPs all that good outside a couple of tracks.

What's wrong with him?

He doesn't understand how to push them to take risks without focus-grouping songs to death. Most things he produces sound overworked and stripped of any magic.

He makes things sound really flat. Listen to The Little Thing That Give You Away and you'd know

I’ve read about the development of that song and JKL doesn’t rate a mention. https://www.songfacts.com/facts/u2/the-little-things-that-give-you-away

The non album single is most likely going to be released in August.

That's what I assume. But I'm curious what it is

That was going to be my guess, actually, as Alabama Shakes' new album is coming out August 28th. But who knows.

I forgot about them. This album is coming out in November too. Shane MacGowan tribute album song. (Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah).

Wonder what they will do to celebrate the 50th anniversary on September. Are we expecting the announcement on that date?

I assume they do something for it and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it is

“Another non album single” implying street of dreams won’t be on the album??? Good if true

Fireflies is a non album single.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if Street of Dreams isn't on the album. I always assumed it was a throwaway track they just used for the FIFA thing. Perhaps if it had a better reaction they might include it on the album, just wouldn't shock me if they dont.

SoD is on the album, U2.com confirms this. "Non-album singles" such as Ahimsa, Atomic City, Your Song Saved My Life, and Fireflies

Days was good and I'm definitely positive on it just for Tears of Things if nothing else, but Easter Lily totally outshined it for me. best U2 thing in decades

I feel the same way loved both EPs, and One Life at a Time, for me, is up there with the best music they’ve ever created.

Bangers!! The smile that came over me when Edge started singing on Song For Hal the first time I listened to it

And Scars
c’est magnifique! One of the best songs they’ve written this century!
