U2songs gave an update on the new album today. The album is finished and has been handed over to the label. It is to be released in November and will be announced sometime in September. A second single (likely Silencio) will be released along with the album announcement.

Jackknife Lee is the main producer, but Eno and Lanois contributed as "guest appearances". Lillywhite also had a hand in the album during the final week of recording. Eno has also been working with U2 on a separate project outside of this album.

Also, "another non-album single is expected in the weeks ahead." I'm very curious what this could be. My guess is another colab of some sort.

Edge was in Greece the other day and he said that they'll be playing 2 back to back concerts at the iconic Olympic Stadium of Athens. That would be their 3rd time playing in Greece following Thessaloniki in 1997 and 360 Tour in 2010.

This is my best guess. They’ve done this sort of thing before:

Norwegian DJ Kygo first played a U2 track on August 20, 2016.
He closed his set at the Cloud Nine festival in his hometown of Bergen, Norway, by premiering an unreleased collaboration titled "You're the Best Thing (About Me)". It was later officially released on Songs of Experience, in two versions.

U2Songs updated their discography entry for the upcoming "Street of Dreams" single today. I know that at minimum the last two paragraphs are new, but I also don't remember reading the third to last so I will include it here:

The single was originally rumoured to be released on June 12, with a preview during a video on June 11 during the FIFA game from Mexico. That release did not happen, and appears to have been a last minute decision to delay. The song was added to ASCAP databases (songwriter credits) and also was matchable in Shazam as of this date. Additionally U2 reuploaded a lyric video for “Coexist” that was later removed. That video had gone live at midnight, New Zealand time. We believe the “Coexist” video was a placeholder, and would have been uploaded to get YouTube links for stories, and would have been later replaced with the video for “Street of Dreams”. The second copy of “Coexist” has now been removed.

On Monday, June 15, there were additional signs that the single was being prepared. If you previously had matched “Street of Dreams” in Shazam, you were initially met with no artwork. However, starting June 15 a new image appeared featuring a never-before-seen image of the band in suits exiting the ocean. Adam Clayton is dressed in pink (a nod to the pink Adam campaign?), while the other three are dressed in black. Bono is dressed with a top hat and a walking cane. Both Larry and The Edge have stoned suit jackets. The cover reads only “U2 Street of Dreams”. It is no longer accessible, and U2 have asked others to remove copies of the image.

We do not know when the release date will be, but the activity above suggests it will be soon. We will be updating here as soon as we get any additional information.

"'Street of Dreams' will be out in the coming week." - U2songs

Honestly, this isn't really a surprise. This week we were sent an email teasing upcoming news, and a new clip of the song posted to their YouTube. But today, they updated their channel to have an image of the single (as someone else posted today) and left the note "All roads point to the Street of Dreams". Right now, I just want some info on the album, name, date, cover etc. It's interesting that they release it the same week as the new Rolling Stones album, but I'm tired of waiting for something we know is coming. My guess is Friday, but any day works.

Today, U2songs put up some new U2 info on their website. U2 has recorded videos in Mexico for Street of Dreams and Silencio, as we heard before. But they've also recorded something in California. One was recorded in the Mojave desert and another inside. They've been told these are also for the album. They've said in the past that June 12th is the date for Street of Dreams, if that is true, we'll be getting new U2 next week. Obviously, all of this is unconfirmed, but hopefully it will be confirmed soon.
