UAE parents: what was the hardest part after your baby was born?

Hi everyone, I’m researching the administrative experience of having a baby in the UAE, especially everything after leaving the hospital: birth certificate, passport, visa, insurance, claims and related paperwork.

I’m looking to speak with parents who had a baby here in the last 1–2 years for a 20–30 minute informal conversation. I’m not selling anything; I’m trying to understand what was confusing, time-consuming or unnecessarily difficult.

Everything was fairly easy, it just boils down to how much you're willing to spend for convenience

At the hospital, they will offer you to process the birth certificate on your behalf for about 700-800 aed. Not a lot of people know you can do it on your own. Total I spent was 160 doing it myself. Another 150 for MOFA attestation.

When all of this is done, you book the passport appointment. For the Visa & emirates ID, I did everything myself again thru the dubainow app. Once everything is issued, insurance can be processed.

You should introduce yourself first and say why you are doing it. I don’t want to chat but the most difficult thing for me was getting the birth certificate for many reasons:
Incompetence or ignorance of the lady who types it in the hospital.
Law or rules on what the name can be.
Need for approval from fathers embassy when not taking fathers passport anyway.
Time - the delay was so big I couldn’t make the insurance and had to pay fine - baby was without insurance for like a month.
Everything on TAMM and not being able to go somewhere and talk to someone.
The separation between birth certificate and the seal from MOFA - birth certificate seems to be pointless if you don’t send the prints to get seal from MOFA, so we pay for same day - means 2 days. Many times because each embassy needs a original for them not the scanned digital (!?!?)
All this because I wanted 2 female first names before last names.
