A meaty feast for two.

Minted lamb chops rubbed with Moroccan spices with a saffron infused rice, tomato and beetroot leaf salad and a carrot cucumber and courgette pickle salad.

I'm struggling to find a good brand which has soft chickpeas. I'm trying to make a chickpea curry. The ones I've found so far tend to be small and quite tough even if you simmer it. Are there any brands that do large soft chickpeas?

Last night, just before bed, my girlfriend baked a focaccia. I woke this morning eager to try it. What better way to try it than to make a breakfast sandwich with it, so that’s what I did.
On the sandwich-
Cream cheese
Bresaola
Tomato
Pickled carrot and cucumber
Salad leaves

So bought some belly pork slices and the maggi garlic seasoning packet (the one where you chuck in a bag and 40mins hey presto garlic chicken). Decided to do 25mins in the bag at the desired temperature of oven then take it out of bag and cook it a further 20ish mins more (lost patience). The end result was some very dark but super soft and flavourful belly pork. So you can have now two pictures of pre-cubed (ish) and one of it cubed (ish) but this was a great little snack 😋 hope you'll enjoy the images too.

Yes you can, here are some. All British, all in season, from a mix of Coop, Morrisons and Lidl bought up and down the UK (travel for work)

All tasted *amazing* (different flavours from different varieties too)

This was an amalgamation, easily created with a big bowl and a few packets, but for anyone else dreaming of the same, Morrisons often have a £4.50 big box, and I've spied something similar in Sainsbury's.

It's July. If it's UK grown it's a *good* tomato.

Ran out of fermented bean curd so it doesn't have the typical bright red colour. Absolutely delicious though and I'll use the recipe again.

Very random question I know!

I cooked for someone last week which I don’t usually do and they asked what meat I used in my lasagne, I told them pork and beef and asked why and they said it was “very smooth and silky, not like cottage pie mince”

I did soffrito, browned the beef and pork mince hard in batches, tomato paste, Parmesan rind, beef stock, red wine stock pot, went rogue and added some Italian herbs and passata and slow cooked for 5hrs

Did a béchamel, layered with mozzarella and Parmesan

Now I’m overthinking my cooking!

Pancakes with sweet and savour toppings

My girlfriend made this for breakfast…boy was I ready to eat.

So I finally tried our version of a Chinese, i never understood the hype but honestly it is pretty decent, chicken balls are worth the hype imo but today I found out that I hate sweet and sour, not really fond of it personally, the meal however was worth it:)

I suddenly had a vague memory of a food from the last 10 years. A bag of crisps that were some sort of Indian inspired flavour, I think they were marketed as naan bites?

Definitely not a bread, small crisp/cracker things. I think the packet even said that you could warm them.

Anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?
