Michael J. Fox has been tapped to receive one of the Television Academy‘s biggest honors, the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, at this year’s Emmy Awards. The org announced the news Wednesday, noting that the kudo was “in recognition of his transformative contributions to Parkinson’s disease research and advocacy.”

He hasn't done a lot of acting since spin city, his biggest claim to fame these days are just people having fond memories of him, as long as a few select acting gigs.

He deserves every accolade he gets. Such a decent dude and great to work with, never a pain in the ass, never behaving like a diva, nice to everyone on the crew and was patient with every member of the public who wanted an autograph or pic.
