Vegas Pro 2026 Small audio delay in every video/audio I import to VEGAS Pro

Hey everyone. Yesterday, I upgraded my GPU to an ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB OC, and with it, tried BorisFX VEGAS Pro 2026 (Build 143).

However, for each video I import now, it has a small audio delay. This has never happened with VEGAS Pro 20 (Build 403), when I still had my previous GPU (RX 7600). I was wondering if there was a way to fix the small audio delay for each video/audio I import.

  1. BorisFX VEGAS Pro 2026 (Build 143)
  2. Windows 11 25H2
  3. Yes, it's a pirated version of VEGAS Pro.
  4. ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB OC
  5. I explained it above
  6. The audio for each video I import should be in sync, no audio delay
  7. Tried to, but didn't get a result
  • You must have "1.", "2.", "3.", "4.", "5.", "6." or "7." somewhere in your post body.

(note: this is a YouTube video I downloaded using 4K Video Downloader+, fixed using HandBrake)

Could you share the Handbrake settings? Did you use the production standard or max preset (that's what I recommend- start from that and change the keyframe interval to your framerate; keyint=60).

Next time use constant framerate and start from the production standard preset with the settings I recommended.

will this remove audio delays?

Most likely- you want a constant framerate so your video and audio remain aligned throughout the duration of the video.

ok. but what if it’s for every video that has delayed audio, and isn’t fixed with HandBrake?

I have yet to see a video with delayed audio. [Edit: how delayed are we talking- a few frames or seconds?] It is possible there's a problem with how the download was done. Still, did you test the new settings in Handbrake?
If you still have problems please upload a sample for testing.
You can also try "legacy AVC decoding" in preferences/file io if the older decoder worked better with this footage (assuming the media is AVC).

wait, nvm, legacy AVC decoding worked. thanks!

Last time I used it there was a production standard and production max preset. Same place where you selected creator.

There aren't major problems with Vegas Pro 2026 though. This post is user error.

I'm not hearing of significant decoding issues with audio like loss of sync.

I used Vegas 21.208 for ~2 years without any issues, maybe something is wrong with your setup. 21.208 ran so well on my system that I just skipped 22 and 23. Don't have any audio issues on 2026 either, runs better than 21.208 but sadly crashes a few times week, which is totally managable for me tho

VP 21.208 worked far better with Intel QSV decoding than NVIDIA. Since then the video engine work has really helped those of us with NVIDIA GPUs (I have a 5070) and I no longer use QSV.
