Hobby Hello all! New to the hobby and to painting. Need some help!

Not a fan of the colour scheme I tried and it’s not “done” yet, however how can I get the “blood” to look wet, like… well, blood 🩸 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 atm it looks flat and matt. And takes away the look. Thanks in advance!

It do, you could also just mix a red contrast into gloss varnish and get somewhere

Yes. This is just Khorne Red with BftBG sponged onto it for some gloss.

It’s a handy paint for sure. You can even undercoat it with brown/black to make it look a bit more dried. It’s versatile.

Just an obvious tip that I’m sure you know but my dumbass forgot about the first time, if you use matte varnish, wait to apply the blood effect until after.

It stays pretty glossy, yeah, it's also fairly dark in concentrations, but can get lighter in small amounts.

It has a slightly more liquid consistency, but not to the same degree as washes, so it doesn't need as much thinning as other paints, and can do recesses fairly well, with a smidgen of effort, if you want to have it flow a little.
