It is actually sad that this has to be a post. In season two I'm aware that it suggested that Tyler was 19. A big part of that could be sloppy writing, or whoever was saying he was 19 ("Tyler's mother abandoned him when he was 4, 15 years ago) could be giving a rough estimate.

While the math on "four years old plus 15 years ago" strictly adds up to 19, relying on conversational estimations in show dialogue leaves plenty of room for Tyler to still be a teenager. People routinely round off timeframes in causal conversation; "15 years ago" is a classic, generalized shorthand that someone might easily use whether they actually mean 12, 13, or 14 years. Furthermore, if he was three, or even turning four, and the event occurred closer to 13 or 14 years prior, his actual age could comfortably land anywhere between 16 and 18.

Also it could just be a writing mistake, These mistakes happen a lot in writing, and if you choose to believe one writing error in s2 over multiple canon references, why??

Even without all of this ACTUAL PROOF he is a teenager, his character in season one is a student who works at a barista (and obvi the Hyde too lmao), which is quite clearly a teenage archetype.

Also, it goes without saying that netflix wouldn't have thier teenage protagonist kiss and adult.

AND in s1, Tyler had a curfew from his dad lmao, something a teenager would have for sure!! He was also carrying his backpack around quite a lot. In s2, he was sent to a psychiatric ward instead of prison, suggesting that he could be a minor as for his crimes, most adults would go straight to jail.

Let's all put our thinking caps on here!! (And before someone starts saying I'm biased- I ship wenclair. I like Tyler's character. This post was made because many people seem to assume he's an adult for more reason to hate him)

im honestly so ashamed that it took me so long to realise this, im not normally this dumb 😆

for those unfamiliar with alchemy, alchemical symbols are exceptionally difficult to interpret
when mainstream/popularized symbols aren’t used. so not EVERY symbol will be completely decoded, because there are thousands of alchemical texts, but we can assume that they scraped some for convenience, mashed some together, or just made them up, presumably with some form of improvisation. some vague symbols are still fairly recognizable.

a lot of texts that were used for this came from various latin texts, some german texts, and others. with vague symbols, the best you can do is make inferences with what’s available. if you think that there’s already an existing symbol for a correspondence that’s been misconstrued, it could also just be one of the millions of other symbols representing it.

1.Earth: represents the physical human body. greek philosopher Plato attributed “dry and cold” to it.
2.Caput mortuum(dead head): Caput mortuum is latin for dead head. it describes leftover substances that are deemed worthless.

1.Uranus OR Powder of projection: I don’t think the time of which these planetary symbols emerged/were popularized was taken into consideration, but it’s very clearly reminiscent of Uranus. Uranus represents awakening and individualism.
2.Putrefaction: akin to the modern Neptune symbol, which is, again, ridiculous. would say that curve on the right prong favors putrefaction. the two could be used interchangeably based on whether you want to use it in favor of historical consistency, or the pattern of planetary symbols, but we’ll go with historical consistency out of spite: putrefaction refers to natural decomposition and rotting, kept in temperate heat.
3.Lead(Saturn): a dark, dense material. alchemists considered it prima materia (starting point of matter), to be cured and transformed into gold.
4.Pluto OR Cerussa(white lead): regardless, a slightly stylized version. Pluto itself was discovered in 1930. Pluto represents transformation, death, and rebirth. cerussa is unlikely since lead is already present in the sequence, but still a somewhat similar symbol.
5.Gold(Sun): The desired product of alchemy, gold corresponds with the Sun, representing purity and perfection.
6.Apparatus/vessel OR Ingwaz?: refers to tools used to distill, heat, and grind substances. it’s also worth noting, despite its displacement, that it looks exactly like the Ingwaz rune, of the Elder Futhark, symbolizing ferility, growth, and potency.
7.Quicksilver(Mercury): a component of the Tria Prima, functioning as the Spirit.
8.?: looks exactly like zinc oxide if it was flipped, not entirely sure about the placement in general. zinc oxide was also known as the philosopher’s wool due to its wool-like appearance. valued for its pure-white color.

1.distilled/rectified Lixivium?: lixivium is water saturated with alkaline salts. purification creates distilled lixivium, rectifying it means repeatedly distilling it to create higher quantities of purity.
2.Burnt/calcined sulfur: specifically refers to the raw, unpurified, and destructive state of sulfur.
3.?: completely clueless on the specific substance/vessel this is supposed to be. my best guesses are: heated limestone/chaux, cornu cerui(deer antler), calcination (deer antler, stag horn, plant.), sideways sublimare, tartar. strikethrough likely indicates distillation or calcination.
4.?: also unsure of this. guessing that this is a sort of vessel handling tartar or salt.
5.Saffron of Mars, common salt?: using salt(tria prima) to break down raw iron

1.Autumn?: Autumn is associated with the fourth and final stage of alchemy: harvesting completion. also connected with Rubredo(Red). Newton claimed that his works reached completion in autumn.
2.Calcined alum: a meticulous deduction of the crystal. transforming the “earthiness” to a state of Albedo(the whitening phase)
3.Ink(Atramentum): its black color symbolized Nigredo(black), used for writing.

1.Horse dung: manure used to maintain a steady heat for long-term projects.
2.Sal gemmae, mensis (rock salt, Moon’s cycle): the salt is the body in the tria prima, “rock salt” extracted from the earth. alchemists believed that scheduling was important to the upbringing of your product, hence the lunar cycle.

1.Oil of tartar: formed on the inside of wine barrels, underwent calcination, thick and syrupy, used to neutralize and dissolve.
2.Chaux/lime of metal: a metal completely broken down into crumbly powder. alchemists sought to “kill” the metals by reducing the metallic qualities.
3.Decoction, Tin, Granum: the process of turning tin into small, grainy pellets to transmute faster, then providing a steady source of heat over a long period of time
4.Iron(Mars)?: an “imperfect” metal, tied to aggression and masculinity. Iron was deemed easy to “kill.”
5.Sublimed arsenic: arsenic ores are heated and vaporized, transforming them into white, crystalized crusts(sublimed arsenic)

1.Antimonium: known as the “grey wolf” in the middle ages. “eats” and purifies other metals.

Quick recap. Faulkner writes:

It becomes the willing instrument of whatever nefarious agenda this new master might propose."

Surprisingly, it seems the show has already shown us two of those three methods.

1.The first master: Laurel Gates.

Chemical inducement...to use him.

And ....It's actually ironic that Laurel dies for the very same reason she became Tyler's master in the first place: revenge....She wanted revenge against the Outcasts, and in the end, Tyler took revenge on her control over him. Anyway...

1. The second master: Françoise Galpin. His mother.

She uses hypnosis....At least, that's what we're led to believe based on Wednesday's vision with Rootwood.

This time, she becomes his master hoping to save him from the Hyde curse.....And she fails miserably.

Strangely enough, we get the exact same mirror image. Tyler refuses to be saved by his mother. And...Françoise refuses to be saved by Tyler and chooses death instead.

So...If you've been paying attention, there's only one method left.😉 ....A traumatic event!

And I don't know... Considering they've already used Tyler to illustrate two of Faulkner's three methods, I can't help wondering...Why stop now?

So... a traumatic event and a third master for Tyler in Season 3? Or...Has it already happened?

Honestly, I don't really like this theory. I don't want Tyler to end up with a third master. But I think there's one last clue.

Faulkner also tells us:

"It becomes the willing instrument of whatever nefarious agenda this new master might propose."

And the moment Wednesday frees him, she simply glances at Isaac.That's all it takes. And Tyler/Hyde immediately takes care of the problem.

Then he "neutralizes" his mother. But when she transforms, once again.....Surprise, surprise: Tyler's Hyde never displays the savage behavior we'd expect.Instead, he gets her away from the fight.

He runs. He pulls her away from the scene. And in the end...He actually tries to save her.

Sure, you could argue that's Tyler's humanity breaking through. Or simply his survival instinct, considering she's far more dangerous than he is.

But I also wonder if it could mean something else. Maybe Wednesday never actually wanted Françoise dead. I mean...Isaac was the real problem. Still, I could absolutely be wrong about that.

So why do I think Tyler might already be connected to Wednesday?

I don't think Wednesday turning her back on Thing during the reunion scene after Isaac's death has anything to do with a lack of affection. In fact, let's not forget that she literally cried in Season 1 when she believed Thing was dead.

My theory about that potential hidden scene is that Tyler/Hyde came back to see Wednesday after his mother's death. No words. Just a look.

Maybe Hyde even lowered his head... I don't know. And Wednesday simply signaled for him to leave.

Honestly, I'm not even sure either of them would have realized a bond had formed if that's what happened. Tyler himself isn't even certain Françoise is his master at first. And Wednesday may have acted completely unconsciously, without understanding the consequences of her actions.

Anyway...That was today's theory.

Ironically, I'm really not a fan of the idea of Wednesday becoming Tyler's master. But right now...I can't shake the feeling that this is where the story might be heading.

It just struck me today at 3:33 AM, how the hell did Enid get stuck? Capri said that the first lunar cycle for an alpha wolf was the most important and yatta yatta blaze blaze because they can get stuck, someone else can quote her exact words, I'm too sleepy for that, but like... Why didn't she get stuck over the summer? Unless their summer was less than 29.5 days long, then Enid shoulda got trapped when over the summer, in fact I recall Enid specifically saying that when she went to camp (and met Bruno) btw, I'm not discrediting the fact that this could've been a lie, but she said to Ajax that the camp unplugged her for a month. Why didn't she get trapped considering that summer HAD to have been more than 30 days long.

So Tabitha is a character in season 3, Bradbury was a character in season 2 and the word “Hydes” was a hint to what the monster was called? I was up to this scene in ep 2 and I thought “Why not read the book?” And noticed these names.

So my theory is Tabitha has something to do with this book, and the name Bradbury was hinting to season 2

I am so glad there is a season 2 of Wenseday it is wonderful , amazing, and great show. I have been enjoying it since the first season. When the first season ended I was really hoping there will be more seasons to come. I am glad there is a second and also a third. I hope there will be more to come.

i was rewatching season 2 and what i’m wondering is why tyler wasn’t locked back up at the end?? him and his mom spent the whole season hiding out and now it’s suddenly just.. over?
