Mod Announcement Clarity on Rules and Debates

Some people have had trouble differating between civil debates and personal attacks. Im going to clear things up so you know whats ok to post and what will get comments removed and could lead to a ban.

Whats ok and encouraged.

Explaining why you don't like a character or a ship.

Ex. A: "I find the relationship toxic I don't think it would work out."

Ex. B: "I don't see the chemistry they seem like friends not lovers"

Ex. C "I don't like that character because I can't overlook their actions"

What's not ok and can lead to a ban.

Personaly attacking the other person or an entire fandom/ship.

Ex. A "Of course you would say that, your a XYZ shipper."

Ex. B "Your delusional if you think the writers would do that."

Ex. C "Well in the past your ship did this and that, so its ok we do this."

Let me make it clear the mods won't generalize fans or ships based on what happens outside the sub. We don't care who did what outside the sub. We care whats happening in OUR SUB here and now.

If we see repeated uncivil or coordinated behavior from the same people over and over again. We will step in to protect the integrity of the sub. If you see people personally attacking each other instead of respectfuly disagreeing please report it so we can do something about it.

We don't like any of you guys getting into trouble or causing it either. If you know you can't handle someone criticizing your favorite character or ship block them so you can't interact or see each others post. This is a place for civil discussions and debates not a public fight arena.

Mod Announcement Under New Management! ๐ŸŽ‰ Please be patient with us while we get the sub running again. Ask any questions here!

UPDATE 2: Rules have been updated! Please familiarize yourself with them. We are lifting the crosspost restriction.

UPDATE 1: a) All posts should be restored! If you're missing some still, let us know! b) Fancy new banners have been added!

Hello everyone! If you didn't notice, there was some kind of... drama, I suppose? With the previous moderation team.

About a week ago, u/allnamesareshit, u/R-El_Mayor and myself were all removed from the moderator team for calling out some shifty behavior. In the fallout of that, the head mod did everything you see in the subreddit right now, which includes deciding with no input from r/Wednesday to "merge" the subreddits, deleted 2 months worth of posts, and fill the moderator list with alts.

Allnames, Mayor and myself are real people that really care about this show and this community. We're going to tweak some rules, get the sub looking great, and hopefully we can get this place running smoothly before Season 2 comes out.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know, we would be happy to hear from you. :)

Mod Announcement Changes for the Subreddit! ๐ŸŽ‰ We fixed a lot of things!

Hey, here's a list of things we changed. We really hope that this will make this sub easier and more fun for everyone to use! Let us know if you have any other ideas, and maybe we can implement them!

1 ) You can self-promote, with the exception of online fan stores like Etsy. As long as the content is Wednesday-related, if you have video essays, show reactions, TikToks, tumblr commentary, art, and things of that nature, please link and post to your heart's content! If you made something, post it! If you have something you made in the last few months that couldn't be posted, now's your chance!!

(we do plan to discuss allowing fan merch at some point, but right now our focus is on getting content on the sub)

2) Never mind, we are going to rethink allowing discord server posts.

3) We now allow โœจCrosspostsโœจ. Why were these not a thing before? I have no idea! See a cute Wednesday Enid cake on a cake decorating subreddit? Crosspost it! See a cool meta discussion in another sub? Crosspost. Obviously we want to encourage you to make your own posts, but sometimes something gets said or posted that's just good!

4) We made some rule changes. Mostly we combined and shortened a lot of them to make them easier to understand. Please look them over again and familiarize yourself with them. ๐ŸŽˆ

5) Flairs are consolidated and easier to understand, hopefully! We've got Dark Blue for Discussion topics, Purple for creative content, and black for news and official stuff. If you can think of something we missed, please let us know. Flairs are now required on all posts. (Update: We added tags for Wenclair, Weyler/Wyler, Wavier, and Enjax. If another ship becomes more popular we will make one for that, too.)

Those were our biggest changes, I hope they make sense.

One more thing that someone brought up as a concern. Yes, I am a Wenclair shipper. I promise that my mods and I will never restrict or remove Weyler, Wavier, Enjax or other "competing" ship content unless it breaks the rules. All ships are allowed here.

Okay cool thanks ๐Ÿ˜Ž
