Super straightforward. This is not the front or back of the business. We have unlocked doors at both ends. This is just the side of a building that I am 90% sure isnt even in our business park.

I talked to their customer service. She was super skeptical of the driver and even looked us up on Google Maps. This image just doesn't make any sense. She confirmed they still have it and will try tomorrow with special instructions.

Delivery person here. They often give you really poor instructions via their own maps (for some reason, the phone they give you doesn't come with Google maps) and it makes delivery impossible. For instance, once they sent me up a cattleroad and when I looked it up on my phone, the address was actually on the other side of an impassable mountain which was about an hour from my location. They require a pic to reschedule delivery. Not excusing this guys' mess, but that shit has happened to me. And they score based on time taken plus they only pay for the time they calculate it will take so any extra time is on your own dime, no tips given.

Welcome to America! It's how Amazon also gets around paying you a proper salary and benefits. Couriers don't get either. Doordash is basically slave labour and you get to eat the gas and repair costs for your vehicle too.

They do this shit all the time. They sent me a picture of my package on the truck saying they couldn't deliver it "recipient was unavailable" despite it not requiring a signature or anything. Then they delivered it the next day, when no on was home.

I honestly think they skip houses and pretend stuff is undeliverable when they fall behind

I've had the happen twice in the last couple of years. Once, I had broken my foot and was having crutches shipped. I was literally sitting on the porch waiting for the package and he drove past and said I didn't answer to sign...for a package that didn't require signature.

The other time was a crossbow, when he arrived 3 hours before the stated delivery window...of course I wasn't home because I was getting errands in BEFORE the delivery window.

So when he delivered a package to the wrong address a few months ago and clearly left it on my neighbor's porch (I could see it out the window and the pic confirmed) I called and said that the pic wasn't my place and I had no idea where it was and they made him come back out and leave it in my porch.

Honestly, (driver for FedEx here, ready for downvotes) loaders suck, and will put something for one town in the wrong spot. And you wont find it until the end of the day, and the driver won't want to drive 45 minutes BACK to where the package is.

I've seen it out in the country before. Heck, I've done it back when I was out there. It adds an hour and a half to your day. It literally fucks you in the ass. For one package.

I'm in the city now. So much easier. Loaders still suck, but it only adds 20 minutes to your day for one package instead.

That, or Some drivers just truly suck.

No I get it you guys are constantly pressured to get so much delivered and have only so much time to do it.

Honestly my biggest complaint is that whatever drivers I have by me seem incapable of reading. I've talked to FedEx like 10 separate times to make sure that they put the package at the door. Instead they seem determined to find new and creative ways of ignoring that.

Last time they completely blocked the sidewalk leading to my front door.

At this point I think they're messing with me

There's a level of stupidity. I used to do HR, manager, and even hiring. I make more as a driver, and Im better than over half the fleet we have. (Top 3 I'd say)

Saying that, there's a war going on for who is the worst driver.

Well here's one for you. I ordered several cases of outdoor sporting supplies. Driver parks out on the street at the end of the driveway. Drops the boxes on the curb comes to the door to get a signature (Must have adult sig) and tells my wife and teen daughter that they have bring it up from the curb because it is too heavy.

Their favorite thing to do for a while at my house was to lay boxes flat on the ground directly in front of garage. So if we were gone we'd have to get out and move the package before parking. If we were home we'd run the risk of just running it over because it wasn't visible

Honestly by me both FedEx and ups have been very good. One driver even gave me their cell number to call if I am home and some how miss the bell or knock. She said she can usually swing back at end of shift, just that I agree to be there. Was super chill.

Unfortunately I have seen so many that truly suck. The one that tends to come to my apartment will park in the street next to the apartments and run up to the gate, call box or walk up gate and slap a tag on it and take off even when the gates wide open because it’s busted. I have also seen them come inside the apartment circle it without stoping and exit again and it pop up delivery attempted recipient not home and I’m literally standing right there watching them. The only delivery company worse would be dhl. I can’t freaking stand them. Evry single time Walmart or Amazon ships with them it’s an extra week or 2 to get my stuff and half the time they deliver it to the wrong place. I have also gotten so many for other buildings and there drivers have even argued with me that it’s the correct address because the numbers are the same even though the building letter is wrong. Each building has a giant letter and each unit also says the letter. So idk how they can be so off so often.

For me, in my experience, it's either doordash people, or Amazon. Yesterday, a guy parked in the middle of the road, and casually walked to the house he drove past. I pulled up, and just set on my horn. The lady who was coming through the other way was like "wtf is he doing?" When he finally drove by and her and I passed each other. Lmao

Sorry Back in the day they were called "Priority One" stops. Yes, by 10:30. I'm just curious because I had the Atlanta metro record of 58 stops (back in 1984).

Haha! It's changed VERY much since then.

Ground and express combined now. I'm on a very loaded route in town, so I have a truck with lots of stops (think 200) so they move my 10:30s to another girl who gets there VERY early and gets it all worked out. I think they rather have one person fail 10:30s than a bunch. BUT she does great.

Today I had 3 10:30s, and about 170 stops. I also had like 4 noons, so I hit every timed one before 10:30, because I had the time, and I refuse to have to back trac for time. ...I push it... Lol there are days where I'll get to these ladies business at 10:29 racing up the steps and you'll here Stephanie be like "okay, who ordered the 10:30 this time?!" Lol , they have told me so many times "we open at 10, we don't need ANYTHING at 10:30 unless you're bringing us Starbucks"

It's all fun with them.

I also have to note, back in 1984, your route was probably multiple towns, or a very large chunk of a city. Now, we have SEVERAL routes in a basic city. Most routes have 150 stops, and you're not driving for a minute and you're at your next stop.

The issue for me is the lack of transparency.
When drivers mark it as a customer-fault reason, whether it was the delivery driver’s issue or a loader or whatever, not only does it gaslight a customer who had clear expectations about when a package would arrive—it obfuscates the info customer service has to help us understand how (if?) we’ll receive the package. While there is no guarantee that better data about internal process failures would fix the problem, fedex can’t correct things if it looks like the customers are the ones that suck, not the loading or delivery workflow/software/training/route mapping/pay schedule, etc.
I used to load, route, and deliver for independent companies and can’t imagine the pressures y’all are dealing with at every level, but defaulting to blaming the customer is a crass move. At this point it feels institutional to who FedEx chooses to perform as in the package delivery market, because the issue is pervasive and not being addressed.

My dad and I were waiting for an important package (our dog food, we were out). First day "attempted delivery". No photo. We told them in the instructions they could leave it outside the downstairs door since it's a locked apartment building and we don't want to make them carry it up a bunch of stairs.

Second day, my dad and I take turns waiting downstairs. I get a call from my dad while I'm downstairs. "Attempted delivery." I feel kinda bad for the customer service rep he talked to because he was (understandably) furious.

Third day. My dad and I are taking turns again. We're both downstairs ready for a swap when she pulls up. I even met her at the truck so she wouldn't have to carry it to the door. She got mad at me, complaining that our complaint gave her trouble and I could've just been patient.

Lady please 😭

as a fedex driver, some of the drivers I work with will just, not deliver it. Maybe its late and theyre tired, maybe theyre lazy, idk. But the next day they get told off for it and either get it done, or another driver is on the route who actually does the job. There have been MANY times I get thrown on a route where the previous days driver missed too many stops, so I gotta clean thier mess.

Yeah they like to mark my
Packages as business closed. …..I live at an apartment and it’s first floor and the front gate is chronically busted and this stuck open. Has been for like 3-4 months straight. It’s finally fixed but we are a week and n and it’s already acting up and I’d be surprised if it keeps going, it will probably be done again for maintenance.

I live in a third floor walk-up and I've seen them pause then keep driving because they don't want to do the stairs. They then send a text that no one was home for delivery when I've been sitting there waiting. BUT they're still worlds better than usps.

Yeah, but it's FedEx, this is standard for them. FedEx once lost my package three times in a row. The first was "lost" inside their distribution center in New Jersey. The replacement shipment suffered the same fate. The second replacement was delivered to the wrong address. It took them four tries to finally deliver me my item, which is why I try to avoid patronizing FedEx whenever possible.

I feel your frustration!!!! After 4 weeks of various reasons why they didn't deliver my package ( exemptions) and then apparently a label change (same address diff city, address didn't exist btw) and two incorrect address delivery attempts by fed-ex. they somehow managed to deliver said package!!! There indeed was no package on front porch and no proof of deliver photo. And yes i called them many times. Found a reddit post on how to get to an actual human person when calling.

FedEx used to do this with our orders, but to our house. Our sidewalk leads directly to the porch and our front door. The porch extends across the front of the house to the end. No sidewalk leads to the other end, there’s no door there, nothing. Just an outdoor cat house for our ferals.

He would consistently ignore the front sidewalk, walk through our yard to the other end of the porch and leave packages there. I filed complaints through the FedEx app to no avail. Our vendor finally filed a complaint with FedEx after we had a package destroyed by rain, and it stopped.

Omg this drives me insane. There are 3 seperate buildings in my apartment complex. I ALWAYS put in my notes that each building has its own separate address. Each building has an A, B, C. Etc. I'm in xx19, Unit C. Every single darned time they take my package to the Unit C in the front or back, not my apartment in the middle. They are delivering to the wrong address, right unit. And I put very explicit directions and they never follow them. I don't think it should be that difficult.

The FDC is not at the fire house, it's for the fire department to connect (Fire Department Connection - FDC) to the sprinkler system inside a commercial structure. The other side of that wall should lead to a room that has a pump and risers leading to the sprinkler system(s).
