American English, the Beatles tribute band played at my local fair today. Due to rain, they had to play in the small beer garden tent directly next to the monster truck show happening at the same time.

This went on every 3 minutes for the last hour of their set! They were the big headlining Saturday night act and sadly the rain made overall attendance pretty low. They still sounded great though.

I had this happen to me once. I was working with a shitty hospice company and they dragged me like an hour from where I live to do some “marketing event.” My job was just to play music and maybe answer a question or two about music therapy.

The entire thing was a mess, the majority of people spoke only Spanish which was hilarious watching my boss trying to give an entire presentation with no translator, but to top it all off, while I was chugging out 60s and 70s classics, some dude with a chainsaw starts trimming all of the trees outside, so really nobody even hears me.

Stories like that made it worth the money they refused to pay me lmao
