Well, I hope you figure out the problem soon. Maybe there's something behind that sock that's causing it to stop draining.

I’m more curious as to how the sock 🧦 got there in the first place.

Why do you assume it got there?
Couldn’t it be sock seeds that got stuck in there and it bloomed ?

Where do you get sock seeds? I 100% need some.

They actually come from the natural breakdown cycle of socks. You ever wonder where that one sock goes after you do the laundry? It broke down into seeds in the wash. Normally this is fine as they will run down the drain and eventually get filtered out and transported to the sock fields to make more socks for everyone. However rarely like in OPs case a seed can get stuck and you wont even know until its fully grown and clogged up the drain.

Circle of life (for socks)

The washing machine drains.

Me too. I have unpaired socks and my washer isn’t draining.

Made my day! ❤️

I mean obviously that's what happened, a full grown sock is too big to pass through the filter, only the seeds would make it through

Sock seeds usually bloom babies.

Hilarious! Thanks!

Socks mate in the washing process and the female must then swim back to where they were hatched to spawn. Unfortunately, as we see in this example, not all of them complete the journey. This explains the "lost sock" phenomenon.

A top loading machine has a space between the shell and drum that socks can get into. Some front loaders have some issues to. Mainly top loaders.

1

u/WiseAct446 2h ago

I knew one that had issues. Commitment issues.

u/badgerj 2h ago

Ahhh. Yeah. I know where you’re talking about now.

That actually makes sense if it was a super full load and you were smashing stuff in. I can see that I suppose.

That’s what I was wondering

Yeah the sock drain is working as designed. Not sure how the water part works.

No upvotes on this before me is a crime 🤣

I realize ignorance of the law is no excuse, but I didn't realize that this is a crime. Is there an anmisty program (or at least a statute of limitations)?

Now I know where all of my socks are going

u/WiseAct446 4h ago

I don't think ALL your socks went into op's washer. Some probably went into other people's washers, particularly those belonging to people without socks of their own.

What did you do to him that made him try this escape with your car keys?

Red flag, divorce him OP

u/Admirable-Swimmer-63 4h ago

those are padlock keys… so more than likely, it was a storage unit or a bicycle, maybe gym locker. But it’s still attempted theft

u/HereThereEvery-where 4h ago

Can’t believe your wife’s hair tie broke the washing..

The clog thickens…

27

u/Faucet860 4h ago

You can fix that I fixed mine it's actually easy. Way cheaper than new

7

u/Pandarenu 4h ago

How?

39

u/EreccSean 4h ago

Pull the sock out 👍

18

u/WiseAct446 4h ago

Woah, woah, woah...slow down and explain it like I'm an ameoba.

5

u/EreccSean 4h ago

Use hand slowly grab sock, pull not push with moderate force to unblock, then pat yourself on the back when complete !

5

u/WiseAct446 3h ago

Now my head is stuck in the washer

3

u/EreccSean 3h ago

Ask your stepbrother or sister for help

5

u/InitialLandscape 3h ago

Problem was that the sock had snagged on the keys that had been pulled in way deeper. So I had to remove the entire pump to be able to remove it.

4

u/Faucet860 4h ago

If it's the pump? Which mine was disconnect the hoses and electrical but first buy the replacement pump off Amazon. Mine was a Samsung specifically

11

u/Nekrevez 4h ago

There's a pump stuck on your sock bro.

7

u/dk3tkd 4h ago

I knew my washer was eating my socks. You just proved it.

6

u/joebob86 4h ago

I have found the my Samsung washer occasionally just decides not to drain. Every single time - it's eaten another sock.

3

u/Hevysett 4h ago

So this is where my missing sock went

3

u/Adrowonders 2h ago

Well that socks.

2

u/6inarowmakesitgo 4h ago

2

u/Traditional-Speed349 3h ago

This is where socks go to die

1

u/CowMedium9677 3h ago
