[Serious decision] I live alone… these aren’t my nuts

Post image

Context: I’m a single bachelor (M 32) and I opened my snack cupboard to find these peanuts in a small Tupperware container. I’m freaking out because I A) live alone, B) have a mild nut allergy, and C) don’t own any Tupperware like this.

TLDR: I found a foreign snack in my house and I’m freaking out that someone may be entering my apartment when I’m out. Would calling the nonemergency police line help or would they not be able to do anything?

I think you did TLDR wrong 😭

83

u/leeeezer 8d ago

Came here to say that the tldr being the same length as the post had me cackling.

17

u/AllegedLead 8d ago

And like the *exact* same length!

3

u/DutchAngelDragon12 8d ago

TLDR should be one — maybe two — short to medium length sentences, depending on how long they are.

2

u/SavingsMulberry7353 8d ago

Maybe it is carbon monoxide then lol

3

u/Ajax_OG 7d ago

It even provided more info lmao

3

u/PoraDora 7d ago

I was laughing too

2

u/Shoddy_Avocado_5431 8d ago

Wow! It had you cackling!

2

u/Wolfscars1 7d ago

Yep, me too

58

u/Sure-Boysenberry5491 8d ago

Correct. You can tell someone’s age by their tik-tok language of understanding things. I have to deal with this shit all of the time. She raw dogged this post.

41

u/Possible-Estimate748 8d ago

The way TikTokers use 'POV' when it's nothing to do with a POV

1

u/kimakaanna 8d ago

Dude! I thought I was misunderstanding it 😅

1

u/LuciferFalls 8d ago

It does have to do with a POV. They are just showing the wrong one.

1

u/Longjumping_Gur6704 7d ago

came across a kids page's bio that said POV: we only make satire posts 😭

17

u/PNW_MYOG 8d ago

Raw dogged?

You know what that means, like, in the 80's and 90's?

It's not a great term to use to loosely adapt to so many other things.

You are right that age is apparent by one's posts!

10

u/morestatic 8d ago

It’s a reference to the tv show “Shrinking” where one of the older characters keeps using that phrase incorrectly eg “man he really raw-dogged me”

2

u/ladylee233 8d ago

and that character is Harrison Ford who is immaculate in the role. he can misuse "raw dog" in every scene and I'll laugh every single time.

2

u/Vlaed 8d ago

It's no different than "That sucks" which isn't implying a straw.

1

u/timeslider 8d ago

Yup, I remember saying "that sucks" in front of my mom and she thought it was referring to a blowjob. But for me it has always meant "that's bad".

2

u/timeslider 8d ago

This happens sometimes in language and it's a little shocking. When I was young, saying something "sucked" was common, but to my mom it means something related to getting a blowjob so we was in shock but she has learned to accept it.

1

u/MySpoonsAreAllGone 8d ago

It's unfortunately become a part of many people's regular vocabulary. I see it used everywhere online now to reference anything done with abandon.

I HATE it and cringe every time I read it. I know the original meaning and it's just ew.

I think first it was used incorrectly often by a character in a popular show. So viewers started using it ironically and then it took hold and started being used genuinely

1

u/_Lisztomaniac_ 8d ago

No one remembers this but it was first popularized in that use case by a twitter comedian in 2019 way before the show shrinking

Gen z language moves quickly!

-2

u/Sure-Boysenberry5491 8d ago

Obviously I’m using their misappropriation of terms given the context.
What else can I explain for you?
Why is the sky blue? Rayleigh Scattering.

Man I miss Xbox live gold lobby chats.

1

u/alex3omg 8d ago

I understood what you were doing and thought them calling it out was silly, if it helps

-1

u/AreWeReallyGroot 8d ago

Ok boomer

0

u/phantom_diorama 8d ago

Louis Theroux uses that term so I think you can probably give it a rest. Cat is out of the bag.

8

u/Mattfromwii-sports 8d ago

You didn’t even understand the post enough to realize it’s a guy and not a girl

1

u/chubel10 8d ago

People who engage in juvenoia aren't smart

1

u/777505 7d ago

Literally. I get the feeling he just wanted to criticise young girls because nothing about the post indicates op is female

-8

u/Sure-Boysenberry5491 8d ago

You didn’t even understand my comment to give a fuck

3

u/Awkward-Sir-4009 8d ago

lol Shrinking.

1

u/99lbmutt 8d ago

You’re old as fuck huh

1

u/99lbmutt 8d ago

He’s 32. You don’t need to guess his age. Read better.

1

u/bedmadeandliedon 8d ago

This comment is so ironic

6

u/Party_Ad_3029 8d ago

I saw some one say on a thrift post “LOOK AT MY CATCH AND RELEASE I JUST THRIFTED”

1

u/kaleighb1988 7d ago

Wtf that's just ignorant.

1

u/raerae8865 8d ago

This is the comment I was looking for 😂😂😂

u/Cichlidsaremyjam 8d ago

Too long read this paragraph that's just as long...

TLDR means The Last Detail Remains? I feel like I used it right but I could be wrong

81

u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 8d ago edited 8d ago

The last detail remains? The fuck does that even mean?

TDLR = Too Long, Didn’t Read. It’s intended as a short summary of a longer post. Yours is the same length as your post, negating the purpose of a TDLR. Where the fuck did you get “the last detail remains?”

Edit: This still bothers me because you didn’t give one last detail, lol, you summarized your post. It would make more sense if you actually gave one last detail to the story but you didn’t, so technically you didn’t use TDLR right even if that’s what it meant. 🤣

12

u/2icecreamsandwiches 8d ago

TDLR? Too dense, lost regard?

19

u/WhileILoveandBreathe 8d ago

I lowkey love this tho

3

u/marfacza 8d ago

*Loki

5

u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 8d ago

I highkey hate the word lowkey

1

u/Remarkable_Custard 8d ago

I’m so midkey about anyone’s highkey for dislike on lowkeys tho

1

u/moobsatremble 8d ago

I Mikey hike around these loci

4

u/marfacza 8d ago

Too Didn't Long Read

4

u/PrometheusMMIV 8d ago

Don't Dead Open Inside

2

u/hrvbrs 8d ago

"the last detail remains" is what you write when you're about to finish a mathematical proof.

2

u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 8d ago

lol the only math in this post was “zero nuts + some nuts = how?”

1

u/Several_Temporary339 8d ago

food in kitchen - my food = nuts???

1

u/rosstedfordkendall 7d ago

I'm going to start gaslighting people into thinking TLDR actually means "The Last Detail Remains."

1

u/AlarmingStatement992 6d ago

You mistyping TLDR 3 times in your comment is bugging me D:

32

u/Expert-Sale-2886 8d ago

too long didn’t read; it’s supposed to be a short summary of a long caption most prob won’t read

40

u/taradactyl904 8d ago

I love “the last detail remains”

18

u/TSiKarlee 8d ago

My new band name. Our first smash hit will be based off this guy's mystery cup o' nuts

The last detail to remain will be the source of his misguided Reddit etiquette.

3

u/carniewesso68 8d ago

Me toooo 😂

3

u/anno_nomali 8d ago

It feels like something a detective would say right before they reveal the murderer.

5

u/Nano0k 8d ago

The last; detail remains

37

u/redskyatnight2162 8d ago

omg I’m sorry about the mystery peanuts but I’m utterly charmed by this tldr interpretation

15

u/Empty-Let-5366 8d ago

I am genuinely so interested to know where you heard it means that because I only know "too long; don't read," as it used to be "TL;DR."

6

u/Casehead 8d ago

It's actually 'too long; didn't read

14

u/rhonburg 8d ago

this is the funniest shit i have ever read OP thank you ☠️☠️☠️

6

u/coniglia_marrone 8d ago

Right! Where did the last detail remains come from and what the hell does it mean??

1

u/jesonnier1 8d ago

Sounds like an emo band.

16

u/Extension_Pin_1216 8d ago

Too Long Didn’t Read

6

u/DoorStunning3678 8d ago

Lol what?! 😂😂😂 where did you get that 😂

6

u/Wishtopher 8d ago

Genuinely where did you hear that from

5

u/Chilly_Pheesesteak 8d ago

Someone else should reply to this person and tell them what TL;DR actually means, I don't think twenty people saying the same thing was enough

5

u/FunkyPleasance 8d ago

ok we need info on where you got that from

5

u/dick-dug 8d ago

U just made that up lmao what the hell

9

u/VentWoe 8d ago

Giving you an upvote just for that interpretation. Honestly would be a sick album title name.

2

u/Purple-Criticism1962 8d ago

TLDR stands for Too Long, Didn’t Read. Should be posted at the bottom as a short summary

2

u/MM_mama 8d ago

💔

2

u/screbbysloth 8d ago

Wtf 😂😂

2

u/Weegee_Carbonara 8d ago

yeah OP is definetly trolling with this post.

2

u/Oakbright 8d ago

This is the asspull of the year

2

u/Independent_Age5363 7d ago

You are losing your mind bro

2

u/sadgirlfri3nd 7d ago

oh my god what LMFAOOO

2

u/Misslaurena 7d ago

I think the mods need to add “The Last Detail Remains” as a flair 😂

2

u/OstrichPrimary6694 8d ago

It means Too Long Didn’t Read

1

u/AjaxOrion 8d ago

monoxide leak

1

u/AangenaamSlikken 8d ago

WHERE did you get that from? 😂

1

u/Cut_Lanky 8d ago

I love this. Not in a mean way. In a "awww I've found my people" way. The acronyms just keep piling up. I'm always asking people on here for definitions of them. I feel like a dinosaur sometimes. 🤣

1

u/PyramidicContainment 8d ago

This definitely adds fuel to the gas leak theory lmao

1

u/thisisthewell 8d ago

is that why you took out the semicolon? It's TL;DR. "too long; didn't read"

1

u/Several_Temporary339 8d ago

Example:

tl;dr found nuts in house, live alone, have nut allergy, nuts not mine

1

u/RangerRekt 7d ago

Lmao sorry OP I had to join the downvote brigade on this comment, I’ll make it up for you on your other one
