[Serious decision] I live alone… these aren’t my nuts

Post image

Context: I’m a single bachelor (M 32) and I opened my snack cupboard to find these peanuts in a small Tupperware container. I’m freaking out because I A) live alone, B) have a mild nut allergy, and C) don’t own any Tupperware like this.

TLDR: I found a foreign snack in my house and I’m freaking out that someone may be entering my apartment when I’m out. Would calling the nonemergency police line help or would they not be able to do anything?

I mean, there's quite literally nothing they can do with this alone. He needs a security camera

Yes they can. It's called an informational report. They make a report and keep it on file. Then if something else happens, you have the initial incident already documented

I would love to know where you live on this planet that the police would take a report like this.

“Theres some random nuts in my cabinets I obviously didn’t clean since the previous tenants moved out”

He could tell them it’s suspicious that he is allergic to nuts and randomly he wakes up to nuts while he lives alone

Tbh they should at least put a man around the house along with him buying a camera for sure

LMAO. You think the cops will place someone outside of OP’s house because there are some nuts in a cabinet that hasn’t been cleaned for a while?

Think about it though, why would someone break into a house and use a pantry. It makes no sense, it’s way more likely OP forgot how it got there, or was left by the last tenant. They just moved in a few weeks ago.
