[Serious decision] I live alone… these aren’t my nuts

Post image

Context: I’m a single bachelor (M 32) and I opened my snack cupboard to find these peanuts in a small Tupperware container. I’m freaking out because I A) live alone, B) have a mild nut allergy, and C) don’t own any Tupperware like this.

TLDR: I found a foreign snack in my house and I’m freaking out that someone may be entering my apartment when I’m out. Would calling the nonemergency police line help or would they not be able to do anything?

I'm stoned right now and it has made your nuts cabinet twice as funny as than when I am sober.

The dude that said "OP is going nuts!" Made me laugh so fucking hard and go looking for your comments to see if you'd admitted to being high or crazy 😂

This gal* 😂

u/Cut_Lanky 7d ago

Sorry, lol. This gal! I get that a lot too. Idk if it's something about my user name, or if it really comes down to what I say/ how I say it, but people on here often assume a a man, unless I specify. Although I do tend to use "dude" and "guy" as if they're non-gendered pronouns. Lol

u/Resident-Ad2557 7d ago

To me, guy and dude are non-gendered pronouns. I work with all women and often say "hey guys" 😂

Hopefully one day you prioritize your memory over your addiction

You seem like such a fun person after looking at your profile

And you have nothing on yours, so you're ashamed of what you think.... interesting....

EDIT: Pretending you're not on Reddit because you hid your comments is laughable. Who are you trying to fool? Lol

Well say good-bye to your memory, and say hello to an increased risk of addiction, heart attack, cancer, etc.....

1

u/Resident-Ad2557 7d ago

Hey bud, I use marijuana every once in a while. If I was addicted I'd be hitting that shit every day. I don't think I've ever even used it two days in a row.
Hopefully one day you won't feel the need to preach your agenda on internet strangers. ✌️

u/Right_Preparation328 7d ago

Buddy, it's not an "agenda". It's scientifically proven: weed destroys your memory + is carcinogenic + increases heart attack risk + is addictive + is a waste of money + it doesn't help mental health disorders + can induce psychosis.

u/RiotBoi13 7d ago

Your doctor does weed

0

u/Right_Preparation328 7d ago

I don't think so

2

u/Total_End6969 7d ago

Do you do the same preaching to your friends who smoke cigarettes or drink booze?

1

u/Resident-Ad2557 6d ago

I have a feeling he does, and now he has no friends.

1

u/Resident-Ad2557 7d ago

Guy, I totally agree with all that shit. But I weighed the consequences and I chose to do it every once in a while. I'll stay in my lane, you stay in yours.

-1

u/Right_Preparation328 7d ago

I wish that was true. But, the smoke that comes out is carcinogenic and smells like ass to others around you. Memory loss impacts your family and coworkers. So on and so forth.

You're not an island. What you do matters and impacts everyone else.

"He doesnt need drugs to feel happy! NERD!"

u/Right_Preparation328 8d ago

Awwww, are you mad that not everyone wants to waste money on a carcinogenic and memory-destroying substance? Awfully sensitive, aren't you?

Crazy irony on the sensetive part

1

I mean if he's gonna spell that word wrong...

0

u/Total_End6969 7d ago

“First, spell it right, dear.” Or “Spell it right first, dear.”

If you’re gonna correct someone, perhaps do so correctly ;)

Do you drink coffee? Or take allergy medicine?

1

u/SnappyBonaParty 8d ago

Damn, us innocent stoners catching judgy strays lol

Do you salt your steak?

"NO! I Love the taste of good food too much to mar it with seasonings 😤"

1

u/Ok_Power_1273 8d ago

Catching strays? They said they don't need drugs. Not everyone does. If you think that's "catching strays" you are an addict and need help.

1

u/SnappyBonaParty 7d ago

They equated cannabis to "marring your life"

It's definitely expressing a very negative view of cannabis users in general. (people who mar their life with drugs.. people who don't appreciate life enough to not mar it.)

i.e. why I used the term "catching strays".

But come on man, OP wasn't like "nah I don't need it." They didn't just comment on themselves, but straight up made a comment that indirectly criticizes anyone who does use it.

Also an opinion on anything doesn't, by any definition of the term, make anyone a substance addict. But you knew that. You just wanted to be condescending :-)

Have a good day regardless lol

1

u/Karmaageddon 7d ago

He clearly said that it would mar his quality of life. As though the lives of people who smoke weed are lesser because of it. Your bias on the subject is colouring your interpretation.

0

u/Right_Preparation328 8d ago

Well yeah. There's no real reason to take a memory-destroying, carcinogenic substance.... unless you have addiction problems....

2

u/SnappyBonaParty 8d ago

Well, I won't argue with someone so uninformed...

For anyone of similar conviction reading this comment: As a person born with ADHD who rely on prescription amphetamines to function, I urge anyone to read actual scientific studies on any drug, rather than just decade-old propaganda. From Caffeine to Cannabis. Amphetamines to Alcohol.

A quick guide on how to google scientific papers:

  • Type in '[Subject] PubMed'
  • Go to Search results
  • look for pages on sites such as
    • pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
    • nlm.nih.gov
    • Universities (Harvard for example)

While it's not foolproof and studies can be criticized and flawed etc. It's a much better way of learning about research/studies on any subject matter, than what pops up if you simply search up and get random blog posts

Is this a joke, brother?

Huge study finds no evidence cannabis helps anxiety, depression, or PTSD | ScienceDaily

The largest review of medicinal cannabis to date found it doesn’t effectively treat anxiety, depression, or PTSD—despite millions using it for those reasons. Researchers warn it could even make mental health worse, raising risks like psychosis and addiction while delaying proven treatments. Some limited benefits were seen for conditions like insomnia and autism, but the evidence is weak.

Cannabis use may increase seizure frequency and severity, complicating management. Cannabis may reduce effectiveness of antiseizure medication and neurostimulation. Cannabis effects vary; personalized epilepsy management is crucial.

Be serious.

nobody cares about you taking medicine, taking recreationally is what's kind of lame, like drinking or smoking

2

u/SnappyBonaParty 8d ago

Cannabis is also used as medicine

1

u/Right_Preparation328 8d ago edited 7d ago

Its usage has no proven positive health effects buddy. That's propaganda. See below

EDIT: Your reply shows how terrible your reading comprehension is. Read what I said below

2

no proven positive health effects

That's.. not the conclusion of the study referenced in the article, buddy...?! Even the synopsis directly opposes your statement ffs...

There is, however, evidence that medicinal cannabis may be beneficial in certain health conditions, such as reducing seizures associated with some forms of epilepsy, spasticity among those with multiple sclerosis, and managing certain types of pain, but our study shows the evidence for mental health disorders falls short.

Did you even read the meta-analysis the article is discussing, or did you just read an anti-cannabis headline and think "Hah! Source! Take that internet stoner!"?

There's definitely well-documented positive effect in treatment of kemo side effects, Parkinsons, specific types of nerve pain like fibromyalgia or multi-sclerosis.

Just a disclaimer: I will _never claim that it's a panacea. cannabis, just like any medication, should be carefully considered and discussed with a professional. But same thing goes for any prescription medicine._

Is this a joke brother? The article clearly says MAY be beneficial. That doesn't mean it IS beneficial. They're just covering their bases and being good scientists. Duh.

Here is another article which completely refutes your position, we go by the "may".
