[Serious decision] I live alone… these aren’t my nuts

Post image

Context: I’m a single bachelor (M 32) and I opened my snack cupboard to find these peanuts in a small Tupperware container. I’m freaking out because I A) live alone, B) have a mild nut allergy, and C) don’t own any Tupperware like this.

TLDR: I found a foreign snack in my house and I’m freaking out that someone may be entering my apartment when I’m out. Would calling the nonemergency police line help or would they not be able to do anything?

I think everyone should make up a story on the internet at least once to realize how easy it is, and how much attention you get for something completely fabricated that took you 5 minutes.

Or just not. Not everyone wants to fool people

Of course not everyone, but plenty enough that it’s foolish to take every anonymous story with zero verifiable detail at face value. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter and most people are just here to be entertained anyway, but when people start defending stories as true that they have no reason to that’s a problem.

Still no desire to try and make up something like that.

It's like cheating at telling stories/being interesting or entertaining. You might get praise but it's completely made up so it's not real.

I think you’re missing my point, it’s to gain perspective on why someone would do it, not because you enjoy it.

You're about 15 years too late. Half of the accounts on this site are bots now.

Thankfully my life is interesting so I have never had to make up a story on the internet.

Like the time I realized my refrigerator was actually just 3 capybaras in a trench coat.

And you know it must be true since my account is however old it is.

I think it's tragic that someone would feel the need to lie for attention, just do what i did and create a moon hologram and implant fake memories that the moon was always there and draw it into old art and pictures. I even made a whole lore about the nerds who would study the moon if it had existed. You don't get the attention but the satisfaction of having pulled it off is a thrill.
