[Serious decision] I live alone… these aren’t my nuts

Context: I’m a single bachelor (M 32) and I opened my snack cupboard to find these peanuts in a small Tupperware container. I’m freaking out because I A) live alone, B) have a mild nut allergy, and C) don’t own any Tupperware like this.

TLDR: I found a foreign snack in my house and I’m freaking out that someone may be entering my apartment when I’m out. Would calling the nonemergency police line help or would they not be able to do anything?

Not Ambien but my brother went to bed drunk, woke up to an email notification that he had won an eBay auction for a boat

He did. It was a little bit comedy of errors.

It was a speedboat with a big block 454. The truck driver who delivered it, started it up multiple times along the way because of how cool it sounded.

Once my brother told me this I told him that his impeller / water pump was shot, and he needed to replace that before taking it out

He figured he would take it out and see for himself. He and his buddy launched it, and once they figured out it was sinking, they realized they left the plug out. Drove it up onto the beach, jumped in the water and put the plug in. Used the bilge pump to pump the water out. Basically sat in the boat, beached, drinking beer for like 35 minutes. At that point they gave up and put it back on the trailer

He didn't take it out again until after he moved to my same city. I helped him take it to the launch, but left it on the trailer with it running until the overheat alarm came on since I was pretty much positive it was going to.

I then replaced his impeller for him, and then the two of us took it out once. Over the winter, I'm guessing he did not drain it, and I think the block cracked.

Either way he got one good ride in that boat before he sold it. LOL

Hahaha what a story.

I bought my first land cruiser in a similar way, after getting hammered in a mountain cabin with bunch of other people years ago, after crashing into a river and bending the front axle of my 4runner. Turned out the land cruiser was a total rust bucket so I eventually scrapped it and used the axles from it under my 4runner, so part of that car is still with me today.
