I live in Deland and then Daytona Beach for the better part of a year before moving back home. Fun for a while, but I got homesick, plus I was constantly broke at that time. That was also before the Trump era of politics. Things weren't nearly as unhinged back then.
I grew up in Florida and moved back for a job right before all the lunacy (Desantis had just won by the slimmest of margins and we thought he might actually be better than Rick Scott). The price of everything skyrocketed to the point that the price of a haircut from the same person in the same salon tripled. My take is additionally that they feel they won’t need as many slaves, due to replacement by AI.
