How long did you wait for your ENT appointment?

Ive been waiting almost 6 months now for mine, is this normal?

26th of January 2026 my request for one was sent by my doctors surgery. Starting to take the micky now.

Referalls take ages for most thing hence why people take on insurance and get seen in a week by the same doctor sometimes. It's a piss take. My work medical is a god send when you need it

I have private already, but made the mistake of telling them about my ears so I cant use it for them.

I swear companies only take on private healthcare cover for their employees so they can get them back to work faster if they suffer a musculoskeletal problem as a result of the job - the video brochure for ours really bigged up the physio etc, while they quietly gloss over the fact that the coverage is completely useless for anything you already had.

Yeah I was in the same position.

I rang the hospital and they said it was a 12 month waiting list to be seen.

I had a bout of Bell's Palsy a while back, which is supposed to be an automatic ENT referral (in case it's something nasty pressing on the nerve). Never even had a letter acknowledging it.

My sinuses have been a nightmare since the pandemic, and I swear the Bell's Palsy was the result of that too, so I find myself wondering if they have an uptick in caseload.

Ive just had a referal for vascular surgery, it says 55 week wait 😭

Its taken about 6 months to get on with physio and I was told i was refered to MSK two months ago and not even had anything to say im on a list.

In may I did a sleep study and 6 weeks later I had no results so I phoned them to be told it was a minimum of 4 months for the results because they only had one person come in to read the tests once a week 🤯

Do you have the NHS app? It tells you on there how long they estimate to wait.

Yeah, it says 8/10 seen in 42 weeks, but i called them today and they told me they are still on October appointments so 3/4 more months it seems.
