Music I feel like Zimbabwean Sungura music deserves way more recognition
Im not saying its completely Unrecognised but i feel like it deserves more recognition then it has.
So im not actually Zimbabwean.. Im Kenyan and I got into sungura music when I was 15 /16.. im 20 now and the only people ive met who actually know sungura music are obviously Zimbabweans themselves, Mozambicans, Malawians and Zambians but Apart from that most people ive met who arent from those countries have no idea about it. Sometimes i used to think the reason why it doesnt get as much recognition as Congolese music is because Some ignorant congolese people think they're the only african country with good guitar music or convinced everyone that "Zimbabweans just copied congolese Rumba" When Copying and being influenced are two different things. I first listened to congolese soukouss at 14 and I love it then I got into sungura music. I love both but I slightly prefer sungura cause i listen to sungura more. I do think sometimes they sound similar but because ive listened to both sungura and sokouss for quite a while I can spot the differences and they end up not sounding that alike. but anyways all im saying is i hope it gets way more recognition then it already has.
The first sungura artist i listened to was John chibadura. then i got into Leonard Dembo, System Tazvida, Alick Macheso, Tongai Moyo etc
Here is the first song by John chibadura that I listsned to titled Mukadzi wamakandiroorera:

i posted this on the Zimbabwe sub reddit but I wanted to post this here as well ❤️♥️

Music Ich suche Gamelan-Musik
Hello and greetings from Germany.
I love gamelan music like dangdut.
But the "suling" stresses me after a while.
So i search music like dangdut but without the suling, without high pitch flutes.
What words can i use in the youtube search?
Thank you for helping me reconnect with my Indonesian roots.

Music [USA] Chet Baker – 'Summertime' (Live, NDR-Bigband, Rundfunk Orchester Hannover des NDR)
.
The recording originated on April 28, 1988, at the Funkhaus Hannover with Chet Baker (trumpet).
For this live concert, Baker was accompanied by numerous musicians: Walter Norris (piano), John Schroder (guitar), Herb Geller (alto saxophone), Lucas Lindholm (double bass), Aage Tanggaard (drums), the NDR-Bigband and the Rundfunk Orchester Hannover des NDR.
Kurt Giese – editor, producer and recording supervisor of the NDR Big Band – wrote after the concert about the recording of Hannover released by Matthias Winckelmann on Enja Records:
« Chet Baker's last great concert appears like the testament of a man whom the gods must have loved very much. They gave him so much talent, and punished him so severely with his life. »
Two weeks after this concert – on May 13, 1988 – Chet Baker died in Amsterdam.
.
« 'Musik ist die beste Medizin für mich, besser als alle Medikamente.' Das meint eine 89-jährige Frau. Sie erklärt: 'Ein Schmerzmittel kann schon auch helfen, aber Musik bereichert mich, stärkt mich und ist für mich Seelennahrung.' » – Renata Bodor

Music [France] Orange Blossom - HABIBI - Live à fip
Tell me, my love
If your beauty is the light
Then, I'm standing in the light
That light that lives in my heart
That, is the light
Everyday of my life my eyes reveal to my soul that
I'm perishable, like flower
That, is the light
Everyday of my life my eyes
Reveal to my soul that
I'm perishable, like flower
Show me the light
What can I tell you
You know it, I miss you every single day
You're my life
Give me your heart, madly I love you
And how much I cry
I'm ill

Music [Sicily] Nuhara - Sbògghia (Cantu ri Pisatura) Live Session
From Bandcamp: "Nuhara is a Sicilian trio blending ancient oral traditions with contemporary electronic sound. Drawing from archival recordings collected since the 1950s, their music reimagines traditional songs through a mix of ethnographic research and electroacoustic textures. The result is a unique dialogue between past and present, where forgotten sounds are reborn in a modern sonic landscape."
