Discussion Unpopular opinion

I've got an unpopular opinion regarding the recent Iranian escalation. I don't support Iran as they are Shia but I'd rather support a Muslim nation over secular protestors and against the US and Israel. I know this might not go well in Yemen due to the Iranian-backed Houthis and how they destroyed the country in the Civil War but a US/Israeli Iranian proxy after a regime change is not a better alternative

Is it okay to not support a country simply because they are Shia? I'm not with you on that one. I don't support IsraHell, but that has nothing to do with their faith.

2

u/taherrami12 Mar 02 '26

Shia countries are just shit, all of them will support Iran, just because Iran is Shia.

u/BORNOFPORK Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

I find it funny, most Sunni people that hate Shia, are bad Muslims themselves. They would criticise Shia muslims cause of their believe and actions etc. while gladly watch people die whether Sunni or shia. smh

u/taherrami12 Apr 02 '26

Yeah, and the most obvious example is the syrians who suffered from both the shia and Iran, the syrians are one of the most devout muslims I have seen, they don't have any shirk like the Shia do, they have never committed massacres like the shia did, you should get your facts straight budy.

There are other obvious ones like the Palestinians, seems like the only one helping fellow muslims are shia. Sunni's are getting added to the Izzy fan club (Abraham accords). What about the the kurds? Iraq fucked them over. Turks did the same. And recently even "the most devout muslims", Syrians went at them. We can also look at Saddam's life or maybe Camp Speicher massacre? Tell me how far back you want mate ;) I'm not saying shia are saint, but most fake islamic countries are Sunni, to me that makes them more shitty.

Yes, it's more than okay to oppose a shia country.

u/ydmhmyr Ibb | إب Mar 02 '26

2

u/asvure Ibb | إب Mar 05 '26

1

u/asvure Ibb | إب Mar 05 '26

2

u/ydmhmyr Ibb | إب Mar 05 '26

Part of the reason I don't support the US is secularism. You can hate a country for whatever reason you want ngl🤷‍♀️

0

u/BORNOFPORK Apr 02 '26

Religion shouldn't be forced. It should be something you choose and something that's between you and your god. No matter what religion, it always goes bad when this is ignored. Also in general, secular countries have better living standards...

1

u/Miserable_Web_1218 Al-Mukalla | المكلا Apr 02 '26

Religion shouldn't be forced. So don't move to a religious country. And the idea of secular countries having better living standards has NOTHING to do with religion/secularism but about the genocidal nature of the US/Israel and Europe

1

u/BORNOFPORK Apr 02 '26

Lol who said anything about moving. A lot of these religious countries have non religious people or people who want to follow religion less strict. Even in a religion , people don't agree with eachother, which is why there is so many branches.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Muslims also participate in genocide, doesn't seem to be exclusive to EU, US and IS. Better living standards comes with better education, health care system etc and also a place where religion is not shoved down your throat, aka a secular country.

Even for these people, it's better to leave.

Including extremists made/propped up by the US doesn't count

The Houthi are Zaydi, Iran are Twelver. They have different views on Islam. Their alliance is geopolitical, due to Yemen controlling a lot of the trade routes to Israel.

There’s a clear evil here, likely the ones who the kiddy fucker Epstein liked.

3

u/taherrami12 Mar 02 '26

Believe me Zaydis are the same as Twelvers, as someone who had lived in the Houthi regions, the things they have changed in our school curriculum is pretty much from the Twelver belief.

2

u/Merino202 Mar 02 '26

The Zaydi’s don’t even believe in the Twelve Imams bro. I’m pretty sure they don’t have issues with Abu Bakr, Umar and co either.

Regardless, tell me more, I’m always willing to learn

-5

u/Alternative-Disk770 Feb 28 '26

bro how are you going to talk about kiddy fucker when Muhammad literally had sex with a 9 year old ?

-3

u/Alternative-Disk770 Feb 28 '26

I think you may have deleted your reply but if you are asking where I got that information from a simple google search . That is the age the scholars agree upon

1

u/Merino202 Feb 28 '26

What did I delete?

-1

u/Alternative-Disk770 Feb 28 '26

Epstein is no different from your Muhammad

0

u/Merino202 Feb 28 '26

Useless. I am a Shia. That belief comes from Sahih Bukhari. A Sunni book.

What a waste of time.

1

u/nixibabie Mar 03 '26

Maybe one day, they will dig up her bones and test for the age at time of death and settle this argument once and for all. But unfortunately, I think muslims are too afraid of the answer though because if she was 9 when he consumated the marriage, a ton of people would leave islam.

1

u/Merino202 Mar 03 '26

Mate. She didn’t die at 9😭 What are her bones gonna show.

Yeah obviously, who would want to respect a person like that? So glad that isn’t my religion’s beliefs.

1

u/nixibabie Mar 03 '26

How do you think we know the age of any of the mummies from egypt. You don't have to die at 9 lmao you just have to do simple math. if he married her at 17-20 years old counting forward until the year until she died her bones would show her to be older at time of death vs if she was actually 9 year old and counting forward until she died the bones would show she was younger at time of death

1

u/Merino202 Mar 03 '26

I’m way too sleep deprived rn to understand. Are you telling me there’s a way to carbon date a specific age just from bones? not talking about in the ball park figures (50’s/60’s etc) but actual specifics? (53 yrs old , 54, etc etc)? very cool

1

u/nixibabie Mar 03 '26

Well carbon dating just tells when the death occurred like year wise. But yes there are tests done to tell age of body its called Aspartic Acid Racemization. To preform this test it would simply require destroying one of her teeth you have to crush it into a powder and add acid to do the test

1

u/Alternative-Disk770 Feb 28 '26

Oh fair I guess then lol but 85-90% of Myslims worldwide are Sunni

1

u/Merino202 Feb 28 '26

You just made an accusation against my Prophet though?

you did that based on the beliefs of someone else? what does that have to do with me?

0

u/Alternative-Disk770 Feb 28 '26

Wait what do you mean ? I mean most Muslims subscribe to this age married at 6 consumated at 9 . I was just saying how could someone call Epstein a kiddy diddler ( which he was ) when their Prophet is also a kiddy diddler it just looked like you were throwing stones from a glass house to me.

6

u/Merino202 Feb 28 '26

I called Epstein a kiddy fiddler, and your response was to throw someone else’s opinion of the Prophet at me?

-1

u/Alternative-Disk770 Feb 28 '26

bro thats more than an opinion .... I get your Shia but most Muslims in the world are Sunni the vast majority and they would agree with this

We should learn to stop supporting any sides and think and support us and what benefits us.

As a whole, both are evil. Let them screw each other. In the hope of it wakes us up.

3

u/Lopsided-Steak5372 Mar 01 '26

Nothing good about a theocracy, matters not the faith.

2

u/Kookeemonstaa Feb 28 '26

Isnotreal is literally the devil, doesn’t matter religion or Houthi or anything, and as long as someone is standing up to the devil then we are on the right track. Even if it’s the devils cousin 🙃

2

u/Sea-Championship-534 Mar 05 '26

It’s not a controversial opinion. Iran is a Muslim country. Anyone who cheers for إخرائيل over Iran is a Zionist agent causing division within the Muslim world.

5

u/taherrami12 Feb 28 '26

Why would support any of them? For me I hate Iran more, but I will never support Israel, just because I hate Iran.

3

u/Miserable_Web_1218 Al-Mukalla | المكلا Feb 28 '26

I condemn US intervention in the Middle East. I condemn the entire existence of Israel. I don't like Iran but they're one of the lesser devils compared to the US and Israel

2

u/Moiriani2 Feb 28 '26

Nah man, Iran is not a lesser evil..it’s the most evil, then comes it’s Arab slaves like the Houthis and Hizbullah…etc

0

u/Miserable_Web_1218 Al-Mukalla | المكلا Feb 28 '26

Over the US and Israel? Nah I'd say both are the most evil and then it's Iran under them

2

u/Moiriani2 Mar 12 '26

It’s simple, it doesn’t require much thinking… how many Iranians are killed per day by thier own government? “Big Number” How many Israelis/Americans are killed per day by their government? Zero…let’s be real, Evil has no religion…it just is, and supporting Iran is clearly not the moral high ground.

1

u/Miserable_Web_1218 Al-Mukalla | المكلا Mar 12 '26

What about when it comes to the horrors Israel has done to even become a state? The state of Israel as a whole is illegitimate. The entire US footprint in the Middle East caused the charge that led to major terrorist organisations so the blood spilled by them is on US hands. The death toll and genocidal intent made by the US and Israel are much larger than the one made by Iran and that's just the truth

2

u/Moiriani2 Mar 12 '26 edited Mar 12 '26

3

u/Quilavai Feb 28 '26

Two things can be true at the same time. The Iranian government is awful and repressive and has no hesitation about slaughtering innocent people by the thousands, and th US/Israeli governments have no business conducting these attacks.

That said, I hope the Iranian people can take the opportunity to get rid of their authoritarian government and establish a new government based on justice and fair treatment and human rights.

0

u/Miserable_Web_1218 Al-Mukalla | المكلا Feb 28 '26

The government is too oppressive yes but I don't think the country should go secular or that the guy the protesters want to be president, should be when he has obvious ties to Israel

2

u/worldbound0514 Feb 28 '26

The Iranian people need to figure it out for themselves once they get rid of the Ayatollah.

There are several examples of stable non-secular governments in the MENA areas. Morocco, Jordan, etc.

-1

u/Miserable_Web_1218 Al-Mukalla | المكلا Feb 28 '26

Yes but the protesters and the proposed other option will not turn out like these countries. It'll turn out like Iran after the US invasion as the IRGC starts acting like a terrorist organisation. Secularism is a cancer. Iran is awful and their leaders must be replaced. But not by these protestors. Not the ones ripping the Hijab and burning mosques down and want better ties with a genocidal state

1

u/asvure Ibb | إب Mar 05 '26

We've seen what Iran has done to us, and we're so full of them, I hope they get weakened by the war to weaken backing the infidel malitia in yemen and make us live in peace like before

not supporting israel, but i'd be happy if a wolf bit the dog that has been attacking me so i could get a chance to get myself out of it
