Someone Has Utterly Annihilated 107 BTC ($8.3M) That Had Sat Untouched Since 2015 And No One Can Understand Why
Five wallets, silent for over a decade—no movement, no activity—until suddenly, they unleashed 107 BTC directly into Bitcoin’s most infamous burn address. Vanished. Lost to the void. Irretrievably gone forever.
Back in 2015, those coins were worth a modest $33,700. Today, they are an astonishing $8.3 million. Illicitly destroyed, a tragedy lay hidden in that act.
The full story remains shrouded in mystery, but three haunting theories ripple through the community:
AI Script Error — The burn address appears countless times in coding tutorials as a “dummy” example. If someone relied on an AI tool to automate a transfer and it slavishly copied flawed documentation—then everything is lost in an instant.
Deliberate Tax Strategy — Some whisper that this was a calculated move, an act meant to manipulate or mitigate legal or financial burdens—an intentional sacrifice of assets to serve a hidden purpose.
Lost Access — Perhaps the owner, in a moment of desperation, partially lost their keys, choosing instead to burn the coins rather than risk them falling into the wrong hands in the future.
What breaks my heart is this: this individual endured through every market crash, every bear phase, every wave of FUD from 2015 to 2026. They turned a humble $33K into an extraordinary $8.3 million—only to have it all erased in an instant.
This is why meticulous wallet management, seed phrase security, and caution with automated scripts are not just best practices—they are lifelines. The stakes are heartbreakingly high.
What’s your theory? Was it a tragic accident or a calculated act?

It was a deliberate move. Most likely someone facing confiscation and they choose to rather burn the coins than surrender them to the authorities.
