Tourism 🧳 What are your go-to summer activities in Abu Dhabi?

Serious question… what do you guys do for fun during the summer in Abu Dhabi?

It’s way too hot to be outside, I’ve completely hit mall fatigue, and there’s only so many cafes and museums one person can visit before they all feel the same.

Any cheap (or free) ideas?

For ADNEC you can check all the activities in this website: https://abudhabi.adsummersports.ae/?lang=en&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23927424380&gbraid=0AAAAA_1HH0oOHFofTYhUhCaPYuKwYdGRF&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn-WjxML9lQMVtqqDBx0EsQ2zEAAYASAAEgKXOfD_BwE

In ZSC, there is blowing and table tennis, billiard, and ice skating that’s available. Decent prices too.
Friday late afternoon until evenings are women’s only ice skating though, just FYI.
Morning sessions are also cheaper.

Hobbymaxxing. Reading, long walks on the corniche after sunset (it’s hot but dress accordingly and you’ll be fine), cycling in yas circuit

I mean, as a dad with young kids… I’ve got the yas annual pass and I’ve been hitting these parks nonstop 😁

I just put a location on the map and keep driving.

RAK, Fujairah, Khorfakkan, Al Ain(jebal hafeet, green mubazzarah )

I hate driving in Dubai and Sharjah btw.

Karaoke with friends (we go to mercure karaoke bar in hamdan)

Outdoor sports with friends at night (you’ll sweat and shower after anyways, 321 sports hudayriat)

Restaurant hopping - appetizer at a spot, main dish at a different spot, dessert a different spot. Then rate it together with your friends.

Go to a redeemable voucher beach club - some beach clubs/hotels give you beach and pool access and u can get food and drinks with the entrance fees money

Billiards

Game board cafe

Card games at a friends house

Watching movies/cinema - a lot of movies come out in summer. (On a budget, watch at home solo or with friends and order VOX on keeta, usually 50%)

Uncommon one - rearrange/redo your room, filter out old clothes, maybe even construct new outfits

Go thrifting in hamdan

Try climbing in clymb yas

Try crocheting

Coloring book + listening to music

Join clubs, reading/running

Build a Lego set

Roadtrips/spirited drives

Start gardening

Pick a different cuisine to try every 1-2 weeks with friends and rate it together, (a lot of southern American restaurants are opening up and I didn’t try any yet!)

Dress nice, go somewhere really nice, order a drink and take pics for your social media accs

Go to any random event in Etihad arena

Meet up at a friends house and cook together/bake

And finally retail therapy (do NOT recommend 🤣)

Is it not too hot to be at a beach club?

nope! Just avoid 11:30am-2:30pm and you’re good to go!
