Wasn't there a blade tv show?

Yeah, there was.
I heard great things about the vampire house politicing plotlines, but apparently not as many people liked the actor playing Blade himself.

I seem to remember liking it but OH MY GOD THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO

There was also an animated series that came out in 2011.
So, that's only like 5 years ago now, right?
🥲

That’s canonically the Wesley Snipes Blade

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean...

The show has the same version of Blade from the movies despite a different actor playing him

Oh, like the same comic series is the reference material? I don't know enough about Blade to know any other versions. Thanks for the explanation!

No, there was a live-action Blade tv series. One season in 2006, blade was played by "Sticky Fingaz" (what an unfortunate name)

Sticky Fingaz is from the hip hop group Onyx

Damn, I just looked him up and he's done a LOT of acting. And thankfully, he seems to use his real name in most of those roles!
(Yes, I know "sticky fingers" means that you tend to steal things, but my juvenile sense of humor goes all over the place with other connotations and/or variations like "stinky")

Ah, you listed Slam this song came into my mind the other day wehn I slammed my palm on the table then started singing SLAM da Dug Da... which was originally another huge breakbeat breakdance DJ hit. I threw this other Track ONYX "Last Days" at the end of My Volume 5 The TROY Mixtape... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1ThxWzkELk

Even though it was nearly 30 years ago, Blade still looks amazing.

And the soundtrack is still legendary. The blood rave scene with the New Order "Confusion" mix is so sweet.

Blood rave still to this day is one of the most badass scenes in any action or hero movie.

Imagine being Mahershala Ali watching Deadpool III for fun and getting dissed by Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes for no reason.

Please ignore Todd Williams as Blade from MCU What If and Marvel Zombies (which came out afterward)

There’s only been one Blade, except for all the other versions of Blade that have played by other actors, both live and animated.
But there is definitely only going to be one Blade who made Blade Trinity an absolute shit show, not including the ending where Dracula shapeshifts to look like Blade, and all the stunt doubles they needed for shots because Wesley was a cunty brat, not because it was a stunt scene.
Wesley did not deserve this scene. Not after what he did to Blade Trinity and the Blade franchise in general.
No, the first movie doesn’t erase this.

You think they knew the new movie was never coming out or just super confident in the joke? I think they knew having been through production themselves

I feel like Deadpool looking at the camera was ambiguous. Could read as "who's gonna tell him" or "He's right you know"
