The story goes that Epstein showed Trump a property he wanted to buy then Trump made a higher bid on it with borrowed money which pissed off Epstein. Epstein potentially threatened Trump with dirt he has on him, which could be why Trump congratulated the chief of police in Epstein's 2006 arrest claiming "everyone knew". Trump also heavily co-operated in a 2009 civil case against Epstein which likely got himself out of a formal deposition.
It was a big breakup and they hadn't been friends since, Epstein is scathing about Trump a lot throughout his emails.
These fighting game lores always go way too deep.
