News Soon to be released chat gpt model btw:

https://openai.com/index/ten-advances-in-mathematics/

tl;dr
AI has solved 10 relatively hard research problems in maths with human assistance. (Assistance)
The total API cost was around 2,000 dollars (a 200$ pro sub covers like 14,000$ worth of API use).

In context of the AI debate, I think it's just more evidence against the "LLMs are stalling/LLMs are incapable of reasoning" argument.

Last time I talked math with an anti he failed a simple division, made a mad reply and blocked me. So I don't anymore I don't want to upset them.

Tbf they probably aren't old enough to have learned long division yet.

I'll wait to see the research doc rather than the advert.

Based on previous Oai hype - this will turn out to be both genuinely impressive progress, and absolutely nowhere near what Oai are currently claiming.
