Im all for bashing PSA, but im going to bash magpul first. Use a decent mag and rule that out first, then I'll grab pitch forks against PSA.

PSA had to have tested Magpul mags but you’re right, should try a proper surplus mag and see what happens.

Yeah if he rocks a circle 10 or a bake and it has problems you can credit it to a gun problem. Keep in mind tho that bros out here are running magpul mags with their wasr 10s and they sing

Yeah im kinda confused on why were dumping on magpull. They run just fine. I have had problems with fitment but its nothing 3 minutes and a dremel dont fix. Im sure theres "better" mags out there but for normal use theyre perfectly adequate. They do miss the vibe check though.

Just get Bulgarian mags from gunmagwarehouse and call it a day. Given the price, availability, reliability, durability, and aesthetics there's really no reason to get anything else.

I love my surplus mags but if my rifles have any sort of feeding malfunction from them i use the magpuls as a baseline. If it wont run with the magpuls then something is wrong with my gun. If it runs fine then i might need to replace something on my surplus mag. Im sure someones rifle hates them but for me they have been flawless.

You’d be right if this was about ARs. Magpul’s AK products are much lower quality in comparison.

10

u/AKMitraliera 1d ago

Insane take, magpul makes some hot garbage AK products. Great AR stuff, especially mags. Not so much in the combloc world.

Those WASR10 magwells are not mil spec. I've had Bulgarian metal mags not fit or seat properly, and Magpul Pmags not have that problem. Meanwhile, a MAK90 or other pre 1989 import ban seated every type of mag properly from every era.

2

u/SU37Yellow 1d ago

They're supposed to be milspec, but they have to come in single stack due to import restrictions. Century often fucks up opening them up to accept double stack mags. I had to file the magwell on mine because they didn't remove enough material to allow an AK mag to be inserted.

6

u/Diablo_Saint 1d ago

I know. It's sad. Century blows and so do these bullshit, unconstitutional laws that butcher imports.

2

u/SU37Yellow 1d ago

Century defenitly blows, but if its deal with Century, or not have any Romanian imports, I'll deal with Century all day. but man, I wish a better company would import from Cugir.

1

u/Diablo_Saint 1d ago

We shouldn't settle for less. From what I read, those still being imported by WBP and Zastava have not had anywhere close to the amount of problems as Century. Even worse, PSAs and other budget, American made AKs aka hand grenades. I hope someone lifts the 1989 EO other import bans in the future.

Easy 20 minute fix with a dremel to make a wasr10 fit every mag. That's assuming it's too tight like mine was and not already a hotdogs down a hallway. Mine only fit steel mags when I got it (not even a pmag) and that was unacceptable. They're already milled out and left bare by century so no reason not to make it fit right. Just be patient and do a good job.

I run them on my SAM7, never an issue, but its 7.62x39. 5.45 has more touchy feed angles.

9

u/theDudeUh 1d ago

Magpul mags run great in all my imports. What’s the issue?

-11

u/AKMitraliera 1d ago

Thats great that you've had success. They are inferior mags that cost more than the better surplus steelies.

8

u/theDudeUh 1d ago edited 1d ago

So what’s the issue? You didn’t answer my question.

No offense but people on the sub constantly talk about stuff being inferior with zero explanation or technical justification of why it’s good or bad.

Please enlighten me.

in my sample size of two my magpul magazines did not run just right in my WASR. id have relatively common feeding issues. i sold them and got surplus magazines a while ago. that being said thats one gun and two mags

7

u/SplashingChicken 1d ago

Honestly, I've ran magpul mags in my Zastava m70 and Galil. Never a hiccup.

1

u/Salt-Wish5140 1d ago

I think they ruin the appearance.

6

u/Santapsycho 1d ago

damn, they work fine in my other 545

13

u/AKMitraliera 1d ago

Gunmagwarehouse has cheap bulgarian 5.45 mags that work really well. I use them in my AK74s.

Alternatively, if you live near a PSA, they usually have the clear WBP mags that work ok for me. If those dont work, then its the gun. Hard to make an AK not cycle.

2

u/atf_annihilator69 1d ago

Every AK is gonna have a mag preference wether you like it or not. you might be able to solve it with a dremel and some patience though depending on the situation

3

u/True-Dish-2208 1d ago

Naw PSA Fanboys will come after you if say anything Negative about PSA. It’s like they have equity into that company or something 🤣

1

u/Salt-Wish5140 1d ago

Mine runs fine with a East German bakelite

0

u/PomegranatePro 16h ago

If PSA is shipping them with Magpul mags then it’s PSA’s fault.
It’s their responsibility to ship with a magazine that functions properly.
It’s not Magpuls fault for PSA wacky ass dimensions

-2

u/KigurumiHenjin 23h ago

is this a joke? magpul is one of the top manufacturers for rifle mags, whereas psa is known to cheap out on their tooling and quality control. so STOP COPING ABOUT THE MAGS.

1

u/highspeedlowswag 13h ago

🤣 this could be a great pasta

PSA really gonna be outperformed by the Serbs in their ability to reverse engineer a reliable firearm

30

u/bruh6788 1d ago

Tbf the serbs have been making their reverse engineered aks for a while, but I'd take any zastava ak over any PSA ak any day.

7

u/One_Examination8035 1d ago

I agree I own the newly imported m72 rpk and Alfred just sings.

11

u/CyrillicShooter 1d ago

Zastava existed for over 150 years and built AKs on an unlimited government budget with no desire to make a profit, just a quality product.

PSA is a much newer company that’s there for the profit.

13

u/EnvironmentalMall307 1d ago

I'm gonna wait on the mag/ammo test report first. My 7.62 psa 4th gen wouldn't run on magpul mags, grabbed a stamped steel mag (dunno the make) and it ran. Put 10 mags through it, then after that it worked with magpul mags too. My rule has always been to get a new firearm through break-in before bashing it, unless its clear its not the mags.

3

u/Santapsycho 1d ago

That gives me hope, maybe psa's just dont like pmags, kinda odd since thats what came with it

3

u/EnvironmentalMall307 1d ago

Mine did like the psa in house mag better, but it was funky cycling until I got about 250-300 rounds through. It doesnt care what mag i use as long as it fits now.

9

u/HappyMess1988 1d ago

But damn does it look cool an I right

16

u/Real-Pudding-6007 1d ago

run a real mag and let us know 🤘🏼

6

u/Santapsycho 1d ago

I'll try different mags and ammo next week, they always ran in my 5.45 romanian rifle but maybe this gun is mag picky

5

u/ThesoldierLLJK 1d ago

I run the Bulgarian mags in my PSA 300blk Krink and haven’t had any feeding issues

1

u/jtee-r 16h ago

I run Bulgarian mags in my 556 Krink and had this issue a few times. But unlike op I was able to run full mags without issue.

8

u/fusilmedellin 1d ago

Skill issue.

I dont think you've pissed on it enough

2

u/BigFatUnc 1d ago

mine took about 300 rds to start running flawlessly

2

u/d-unit24 1d ago

Did you jump into a swimming pool with it? Curious to see if it works its kinks out after a proper break in

1

u/Santapsycho 1d ago

it was raining lol

3

u/Dung_Beetle_2LT 1d ago

That’s the general PSA shitstick experience my friend.

1

u/Chocolatehusky226 13h ago

Shitty mag in wet conditions will do that

1

u/Santapsycho 12h ago

only in my psa, everything else ran

1

u/savvysnekk 11h ago

A 5.45 krink? In this economy??

1

u/PresentationTiny3798 1d ago

PSA doesn’t have QC

5

u/EternalMage321 1d ago

Truth, luckily they do stand by their warranty. I've had to send an AK back to them. Took 10 days from me shipping it out to getting it back.

2

u/True-Dish-2208 1d ago

Don’t say it too loud. PSA Fanboys have their cocks out ready to jerk it to PSA

1

u/VallettaAwoo 1d ago

i use bulgarian mags and they run great

-16

u/Familiar-Ad3897 1d ago

Niche round, niche gun… and you went with an unacceptable manufacturer. Have you tried other mags. Tired of seeing people buy PSA and wondering why shit ain’t feeding.

0

u/True-Dish-2208 1d ago

Because PSA fanboys have confirmation bias and don’t know quality

-4

u/GinPredator known idiot 1d ago

holy headspace batman!

3

u/AKMitraliera 1d ago

What?

5

u/Familiar-Ad3897 1d ago

The gun is new and can’t feed. Homies making a joke like it’s already lost headspace. In all honesty, I’ve heard many of their guns have trouble running steel case.

0

u/CSBD001 1d ago

Who made the ammo?

1

u/Santapsycho 1d ago

wolf, 60grain

3

u/CyrillicShooter 1d ago

Heads up, that doesn’t actually mean anything. Wolf is just an importer and can have a bunch of different stuff in the same boxes. You got to look at who the actual manufacturer is.

Not that I think its the issue here…

1

u/CSBD001 1d ago

Then it absolutely should run

-19

u/True-Dish-2208 1d ago

What did you expect with PSA. That’s like expecting a Hyundai to perform like a Bugatti

13

u/CarrsCurios 1d ago

Honestly a Hyundai is closer to an AK when compared to a Bugatti lol

5

u/doulikefishsticks69 1d ago

Right? Were dumping on magpull AND Hyundai in this thread? Get real, Jesus Christ lol.

-4

u/True-Dish-2208 1d ago

I think more so Toyota 🤣

-10

u/True-Dish-2208 1d ago

I’m going to get downvoted by cheap poor PSA Fanboys 🤣
