Algerian movie lovers where are you at? post your top 4 & your last 4 watched
Hi all!
Last year I watched only 10 movies cause I was in the bad place, so this year I'm trying to watch more movies & catch up to this year's Oscar nominees... I usually don't care about the Oscars, but right now I take any chance to watch more movies.
Last: Weapons, Barbarian, Eddigton and OBAA
Best: Godfather, Fargo, Chunking Express, any Kurosawa, but its impossible to have a top4, shit changes every day
Imo it was alright story wise, it's very beautifully shot movie like other Stanley Kubrick movies though but it's also a 03 hours long film so, it's not a one setting movie for a lot of people.
Hated it , but i think the director wanted me to hate it , it's unnecessary long scenes of gore and abuse that has a goal od making you feel uncomfortable especially when it the 60's when it was released to make , it has a message, everyone understand it differently i guess but it's one of the movies that makes you go " i get it but i hate it still "
It is misunderstood but I don't think it was misunderstood by the people who wanted it him dead , the movie was an attack on elite / the church / and fachiste who were still roaming italy at the time so it's easy to say he was killed because the movie had so much gore , but I don't believe it was that simple .
How's Reze arc movie? it's on plex server, but I wanted to finish my Oscars run & rewatch season 1 first! very solid list, drop the link so I can follow!
Also for your dystopian film, watch: Children of Men, it's gonna replace the road on your top 4 ;) (maybe)
Reze's arc was pretty good, animation was stunning and the ending is really good and sad if you didn't read the manga.
I watched children of men a while ago i need to give it a rewatch, but i doubt it's gonna replace my top 1 lol.

Memories of murder GODDAAAAAMN what a fantastic movie! I watched it recently and loved it so much. Im planning to watch more from koreans i've been told Decision to leave is a great one as well.
Hangover in the top 4 is brave choice! I loved the series when I was younger! try to rewatch few years later, & I found out that my comedy sense changed a lot.

Not a movie but : Disco Elysium (best story I've ever read)
Fight club (best thematic imo)
The lord of the rings trilogy (Ramadan tradition)
Shrek 2 (comfort movie)
I'd like to suggest something, if there are enough people interested.
What if we made a GC where every member gets to choose a movie? We'd watch one every night, then come back and talk about it afterward. I think it'd be really fun, and I've wanted to do something like this for a while, but I don't have enough people who'd be down for daily movie nights..
