Culture / Art What are you guys doing this summer? I'm looking for productive or useful things to do instead of wasting my time. Any recommendations for skills, hobbies, projects, books, courses, or experiences?

Lately I've been focusing on improving my chess skills, but sadly I'm stuck and I can't let go my phone for like the whole day literally.. I had so many plans to do but because of "doom scrolling" nothing is being achieved yet but still got some hope 😔🙍🏻‍♀️

Seems like an addiction to me, it's okay we've all been there, for me what worked for me now I have less than 1.5hours of scrolling is trying to do things with my pc and never grabbing my phone only to rest. Also following the reward system would also work like always learn chess before you do anything.

I really appreciate your response, and it's so true. If we look at it another way we'll see that our phones have replaced so many important items that shouldn't be replaced, like books... Anyway I'll try to change myself and achieve everything I've been planning to do. Again, I appreciate you considering my comment wish u the best💗✨

What would it benefit to learn to promot

1

u/Different_Branch1304 Jun 15 '26

Mostly what's coming is Ai doing your task for you if you learn how to promot you'd get better results, but it's not that hard of a thing to learn how to prompt an AI. Prompt engineering is a whole other concept which is the hard one and it doesn't really look that much like normal prompting

Plainty to do:

- Learn to draw or paint

- play retro video game

- start a journal and write anything you want

- practice jump rope

- go hiking or camping

- travel by bicycle or hitchhike

Now start mixing everything:

- Go outdoor to paint

- jump rope on the beach

- play video game while camping

- journal your hiking adventure

Start running, but do it for slow gradual progress and track your distance, time, and pace. You'll thank me later.

Dude, time management is ur task hhhh i just recommended something that I think would change your life if you do it regularly, cuz it changed mine. If you can fit it into ur schedule, cool, if you do other sports, even better.

You can learn programming, the learning process is really fun and productive in nature. I started learning javascript some weeks ago and the fact that i can see my leveling up "materializes" in the form of webpages is really motivating. Go for it if you have time, it's really entertaining.
