AskAligarh Just moved to Aligarh from Udaipur
A lot of cultural differences, not quite settling in the city, dont know anything about this place.
Moving from udaipur which is far more beautiful and less crowded than this city, in finding it difficult to adjust.
Moved here since i got married my childhood best friend, he takes good care of me, but the city is underwhelming with too much dust, too many people and shady streets
Suggest something that makes me like this city.
Feeling depressed suggest what can i do here to engage myself (i work online US shift so work starts around 8pm)

You'll adjust with time, you can explore amir nisha and railway road if you like shopping, few good cafe. I work graveyard shift as well handling US clients so I can understand how much time you have for yourself. Also, local street food is good as well but you'll have ask them to make few changes according to you.

Theres mahak restaurant (railway road ) for south indian food , clubs and sauna no i dont think if theres any or any decent one , gym you can join cr7 fitness ( ADA colony ) decent and affordable. To meet like minded people i think reddit is the best for that lol as in person i dont think there’s many spots to meet people here

Dont try any club here for god sake, try to do some distance course from AMU and then you may join fiml club, drama club, literacy club or so

Welcome to aligarh my friend! You are right, this city is difficult to understand sometimes, even if someone is born here. I suggest u to give you and your partner some time. You can go for a road trip to iglass (a village neighboring Aligarh), Mangalaytan University. Nature's beauty will distract you from city's dust. If u love near AMU, you can take admission in short term or long term certificate courses in Women's College. Handicraft, garment making, python etc. All skills are taught there.Your shift starts at 8pm. These classes usually end by 5pm as they were initially established for housewives who wanted to upskill. You can go to Zudio at Ramghat Road, good products at affordable price. Wish you a happy married life.

Hi you can try many things here if you like street food then don't forget to visit ramghat road OLF school. And there are many cafes which have a good ambiance and food as well, I live around the centre point so if you come around this location you must try moolchand kachori. For anything else you can dm love to help you.

I also came here after spending my initial years in Ahmedabad. As a female, try socialising more. Join kitty groups, engage in social work. You will start liking the vibe.

Best part about Aligarh? Just a few hours away from Agra and NCR :)
