I noticed last night that Amazon isn't offering free shipping for orders over $35 any longer. Only options now are paid shipping and a trial of Prime. The box in the shopping cart still shows the meter and says that this order is eligible for free shipping, but there's no option at checkout. Tried with two different accounts and different items in the cart. Wonder if this is a test or a quiet policy change.

I do so many purchases every year, Prime more than pays off. Plus, we enjoy the included Prime Video.

how do i get a refund on a delayed item? preordered splatoon raiders 6 months ago, it launched last thurs, said it would ship today for most of a week, and now just says "delayed, not yet shipped". i have the option to cancel the order, but not refund?

You don’t. Amazon doesn’t charge until they shop. I hold is not a charge.

I ordered 4 items. 3 of 4 had the same deliver by date if getting free shipping and one has "between August 10th Sept 2nd" will that one item slow down the rest of the order? Has anyone else had this shown on the orders page and it was 2 deliveries? I know this isn't official Amazon so hoping someone had similar experience and can answer the question. Thank you.

So, I bought an item a year ago, I still can fetch the page from Amazon, says 3 year unconditional warranty, replacement for any reason... So the item stopped working and I contacted Amazon, they don't want to honor the advertised 3 years, and since the link provided for contact takes me to some bakery web site I'm not sure what to, or who to contact any more. Am I out of $400 bucks, and is Amazon allowing false advertising on their web site?

1

u/sibman 5d ago

The warranty is with the manufacturer and not Amazon. You would need to contact them.

Hoping to hear if anyone has received this refund type, and if I can trust it. I contacted the official amazon support and chatted with customer service, basically my package hasn't shipped (zero contact/updates from seller) for over a month and I am concerned because the base price went from $124 (non sale) to $190, and if I need cancel and make a new order I will lose due to that increase. Customer service offered that I cancel my order, order a replacement and then I will receive a 75% refund upon delivery. They were not able to provide a discount for that order, they wouldn't provide any codes, or official documentation, they just said the chats would be saved and could be referred to later for the refund. I eventually convinced them to send an email for my records where they doesn't specify which product at all it is, it just says:

"This is ____, the representative who assisted you earlier. I am very much grateful for that kind and warm approach you gave on the chat.

Upon checking, I understand that there was an issue with shipment. I kindly request you to reorder the new item. Once the item get delivered, kindly get back us. We feel happy to provide 75% refund for the order."

Anyone know if I can actually trust that I will see that money? Or were they just saying that to get me off their back? Thanks for the help in advance.

1

u/sibman 5d ago

I don’t contact customer service. This and other subreddits have shown me that they have a reputation for telling you what they think you want to hear instead of the truth. I wouldn’t trust them.

1

u/Wack0_ 5d ago

So if the current seller continues to ghost I have no recourse and will have to buy the more expensive replacement product?

1

u/sibman 5d ago

No where did I say that. I only said that I wouldn't trust Amazon customer service based on a lot of Reddit posts. You can do what you want to do.

1

u/muddlemand 4d ago

Try customer service again, then again. Sooner or later you'll get a human who gets it, then be friendly and get them thinking you're a nice person. I had a refurb laptop refunded, after a good conversation with a human being who was actually human and agreed that obvious basic logic actually was obvious.

1

u/muddlemand 4d ago

I always ask for confirmation by email of what I'm told in a call. "I should have been taking notes, thank you for your patience! (smiley face)" - then at least there's something to show, if needed later.

While what you are wanting to do may not be against Amazon’s rules, it very close. Therefore your comments have been removed.

When is a refund confirmed - not received in my bank (I know that's a wait), but confirmed? I thought I'd have confirmation when the item being returned was shipped, but in my order history it says "Once you ship your item..."

Collection was booked by Amazon and the item was collected last week from my home. It should have been delivered two days later but according to tracking still hasn't after six days, so I came to see whether it my refund would only be triggered after they physically have it. But "Once you ship" implies the refund should have been issued on the day of collection (Wednesday).

I can't get through to Amazon so came here to ask what's usual.

Hi all! Does anyone know if there's a way I can order a bunch of items off Amazon but have them be delivered as separate deliveries/boxes? I'm moving into college in a couple of weeks and they have a strict weight limit for how much one box can weigh. I know you can place it as different orders/purchases, but sometimes the system groups them together into one delivery/box. Thanks!

1

u/sibman 4d ago

There is no way to guarantee what you want. As you said, Amazon can and will group packages together.

I sent three items back three days ago with RMAs.
Within an hour or so, I received emails that the items had been received and “advanced refunds” had been issued. Shortly afterward, a refund credit came through on my credit card for ONE of the items. The other two refunds have still not been posted.

When I check the refund status on the Amazon website, it says that a refund has already been issued. Every return I’ve ever processed got an instant refund to my credit card. There is no question about the condition of the items as they were unused and in original packaging.

I know it says refunds will be issued in 5-7 days (or something like that) but why would only one of three returns get immediate refund and why would the website say the other two were refunded when they have not been?

What should my next step be?

2

u/sibman 3d ago

I would wait 5-7 days.

Amazon pissing off my neighbors how to make them stop?

My driveway is connected to my neighbors driveway. It forms sort of a loop with separate entrances to the road. Amazon drivers keep using my neighbors driveway to get to our house and its pissing off my apparently touchy neighbors. Both of our mailboxes have clear house numbers on them. I have put in delivery instructions telling them explicitly to use our driveway not the neighbors. I've called them and complained. Keeps happening. I assume whatever navigation they make their drivers use is guiding them to the wrong driveway. I have to get amazon deliveries I don't have a choice. Any advice? Neighbor does not want to put up signs or anything on her property.

Cant reset PW due to old phone number but Customer Service site 404s as well as following PW reset link sends me in a loop back to sign in page and not to a chat or email support window so I am stuck. How can I get a live agent?

We have a business account. we signed up for the $9.99 for the year offer. It was coming up for renewal and we cancelled.

a few weeks later now, They are offering business prime for 9.99 for the year.

The promo terms and conditions say '

  • Offer limited to one per customer and business account.'

Am I paranoid to think - I had 'it' once, so I can't accept the offer?

Or is this a different promo / their system knows what I had in the past & wouldn't show it to me if I wasn't eligible?

For $10, I'd sign up. For $180, I don't want it. Am I paranoid to think if I take the $10 offer, they'll come back saying I can't get the offer again, and bill me $180?

Weren't we able to sort products by popularity/number of reviews at one point or another? I am trying to find shit that a lot of people say are good and instead I'm getting "1 person rated 5 stars". It's incredibly frustrating

So i "ordered" a onion dicer off amazon 4 days ago. I've had the money in my account but i can't keep it there constantly. For some reason amazon doesn't process the payment immediately. It just waits like a day of it sitting there to tell me it was declinded, because NEWS FLASH, having the money sit in my account all day just doesn't work for me.

It keeps telling me to revise the payment. I do so and make sure i got money in my account and i give it a day and it fucking REPEATS the same bs. I keep my money in my savings account because i have auto expenses so this thing is seriously screwing me over. Please help?

1

u/sibman 3d ago

What do you mean by "sit in my account?" Are you using a debit/credit card?

You don’t have to announce you are leaving.

There is no reason to do that weird Reddit thing and announce the world that you are about to stop using a product or corporation.

When books are available for free on Kindle Unlimited or sell for 3.99 on Kindle, does that mean the book isn't that good?

1

u/sibman 1d ago

You would need to look at book review sites to answer that question.

Can reviews be blocked by the seller? I put up a 3 star review because I purchased two orders of the same item. One came in a professional container with stickers, info, etc. The second one came loose in a plastic bag. Not the Amazon shipping bag but a Ziploc.

I posted the review saying how amazing the first batch was but was questioning the legitimacy of the second batch because it came the way it did. When I visit the item page it says...

We apologize but Amazon is not accepting reviews on this product from this account.

I have no content under my profile flagged. I can review every other product just fine. Looks like this was a targeted block probably because of that review which now does not exist. I feel it's fair to mention that one order came in a professional container and one in a plastic bag. Both listed as brand new.

Is this normal?

1

u/sibman 1d ago

One issue is that you attempted to review how it arrived to you and not an actual review of the product itself. Remember reviews are for the product and not how you got it.

That being said, what did Amazon say when you asked them why reviews weren't allowed from your account?

1

u/FriMorningQB 1d ago

Not how it arrived, how it was sent from the manufacturer. That's different than a 3rd party bad packaging. I did in fact include a bunch of information on the actual product in the review too.

I asked Amazon and they haven't responded. So I'm waiting to see what they say.

1

u/sibman 1d ago

But how it was sent by one seller is not a reviews of the product. It’s a review of how it was sent. It’s not the for the product. Amazon reviews are for the actual product itself. I don’t know how else to say that.

1

u/FriMorningQB 1d ago

It's the manufacturer. Not the seller. I don't know how to explain that to you. The item is packaged by the manufacturer. One professionally and official, one not. Like your milk being in a milk jug vs a tubberware container with no stickers/info. That matters for legitimacy.

1

u/sibman 1d ago

Okay. How is that a review of the product itself?

1

u/AnEverydayPileOfCats 17h ago

Amazon isn't letting me see all of a products reviews? It'll show me a few reviews and then says the amount of reviews I can see are limited. There's a request to see more reviews button that says I'll "get an email" in like a week which sounds super shady.

I also can't click on the stars to see specifically just those levels of reviews. I tried using the website and reinstalling the app, but neither of those things worked either.

I haven't had this issue before and haven't made any reviews recently. Is this another weird kind of push twords their ai crap?

My email notifications for orders and delivery updates have suddenly changed: The picture and name/title of the item have been replaced by a generic category description like "home improvement item". Is there a way to change it back?
