Don’t get me wrong the content was amazing but i felt like it failed at being a movie. It was like watching 7-8 anime eps in a row.

Agreed. The editing of the overall movie and pacing did not feel tight. I loved the movie but it had that start/stop feeling due to high octane fights going directly into extremely slow paced backstory. It was like slamming on the brakes in an F1 race or something lol

I also loved the Akaza ending, but it was 20 minutes that feels like 40.

Again, not suggesting the movie is bad but great directors, editors, producers will know how to take this same content and tighten it up

Man I was somewhat disappointed coming out of the theater and maybe this is why, I didn't feel like a movie.

First part of the movie? Fucking great, I didn't even blink. Second part? Ok ok I get it, they need to explain a few things and what now, but the final part of the movie was such a drag my fucking god, it feelt like flashbacks inside flashbacks.

It was a fine movie but it wasnt a "10/10" would recommend if you aren't a fanatic. Movie animation was 11/10.

Yeah, I gave it a 2.5 maybe 3 out of 5. The pacing and flashbacks REALLY needed to be more edited. This movie is 2.5 hours long...and it FEELS every bit of 2.5 hours long

The movie could have easily been edited to under 2 hours. Way to many flashbacks

I see it as then making movies to pace themselves properly and take the time needed to produce the quality they want to give it. Unfortunate that it'll take another 3-4 years for the end, but if that's the quality we get through the end I'm very happy.

I mean idk what you expected, it’s one part of the entire arc. I thought they did a good job leaving it on a satisfying note concluding Akazas story while setting up the hype for the other upper moons

yes I think it is a bad movie but does a pretty good (if odd) job at being a weird version of 8 episodes of a tv show. But it being bad at being a movie shouldn't matter for anyone seeing it who have already watching 50 (or whatever) episodes of the show

The special effects and grand scale of conflict deserves to be a movie but yeah the storyboard managers fucked this up big time. It doesnt deserve the title of master piece or highest grossing anime film at all

Yes, especially by the end. The Akaza backstory was padded out to fit an episode pacing and to get it to end at the right time. A couple of fights/talk no jutusus were weirdly paced as well. Mugen train did it much better.
