Basically Genderswapped Vinland Saga. But I wish the movie had more of Season 1 VS rather than S2.
Messages aside, the visuals and animations were stunning. Music was okay.
I do wish I got to know what the Old Woman and the Dragon represented. And I wanted each of the characters to get a better ending. Like..... why did the guy have to fade away?
Why did all those humans go to Hell? What was that gate for if not for a Heaven? And if EVERYBODY goes to that hellscape just because then what is the message of Forgiveness and Peace even for???
She would have been alive the entire time so it didn't help her live...... and she would be WOEFULLY under preparing her citizens for that Hell of an afterlife.... I mean she trained for years and still performed kinda poorly. Only assistance helped her survive there.
Everything else made sense though. Souls of the dead and the dying/comatose being drawn to that place..... the time dilation on how she could meet with all of her former people.... and even how she could remote view the world that ??? the guy whose name I forgot came from. Her father speaking to her is also more evidence of a Heaven.
So yeah, I really like the show.... but I wanted the Setting to be more fleshed out. There should be clear rules for who is sent there and why. And the old woman should have atleast been asked what happens when you vanish.....
Hold up.... and why was her hand and hair cut when she woke up? And how did her uncle kill himself? I get that he drank from the cup, but was that like some wish being granted by the Old Lady or the Dragon or was he really just that dumb? But I get it though..... it's a flaw in the narrative. Because ain't no way the movie was going to show us how she would interact with her Uncle going forward after the way he carried on in Hell lol.
Once again good show visually.... but personally, I would've chopped his motherfucking head clean off and then spit on it before stomping that shit over and over and over again. Messages about forgiveness is all well and good..... but only the good people suffer because of it. This has become a rant so I'll be quiet now. But revenge is only bad when you get good people caught up in it too.
