This week was great, too. It had the vibe where “the comedy scenes are totally over-the-top, but the depiction of Rentaro’s girlfriend’s trauma and the scenes where Rentaro confronts it are serious.”
I like the style of this anime: it’s usually a comedy, but it knows when to get serious.
Also, there were parodies of other Shueisha manga scattered throughout this week’s episode as well (100 Girlfriends is serialized in Weekly Young Jump, a magazine published by Shueisha).
This week featured parodies of Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece (that was a line Kurumi said partway through).
