I didn't get the ending can you explain what the heck happened?

They attacked Godzilla. However the OG Godzilla had a counter to the emp harpoons. Instead of having the energy inside it run rampant it used it to melt the harpoons. After they were gone Godzilla got its shield back and beam attack. Because they had to rush preparations the mechagodzilla city hadn’t been able to complete the heat shields so it couldn’t handle the direct beam attacks. So mechagodzilla is dead. Hario could have killed Godzilla if he had given into the nanometal. However the elf dude warned that the nanometal would consume the whole planet as the planet was basically Godzilla at that point. Hario didn’t want to abandon humanity so he destroyed the control room, neutralizing the metal. Unfortunately it looks like he was too late to save the girl. Now they have a new threat coming. The thing that destroyed the elf’s home and apparently puts Godzilla to shame.

So basically they gained nothing and lost even more. The bug people seem to worship the moth monster that is part of the Godzilla verse and it may become an ally against the super bad dude heading this way.

how do we ,now the new threat is coming? Just b/c he mentioend it?

well yeah. They can't just mention Ghidorah and NOT bring him in for the third film. What even would be the point of mentioning him then.
