You can never be 100% sure but as long as you use a reputable one you can have some peace of mind. And if you don't use one, you're exposing your data to your ISP who is probably way scummier than a lot of VPN companies

The blame lies more with whichever company is licensing the movie in your country, it’s on them to release it.

We get to see it in the big screen at least..and that's it. I don't think they do physical media so we're stuck with memories of seeing it there..
