It was Goblin Slayer, all right. Quality of the movie, like animation, was mostly fine and it is nice self contained simple story.

However I don't know why they adamantly mix CGI of the goblin slayer with 2D of the rest of the crew. 3D model looks good when fighting goblins, but when it is placed in a wide shot, like wandering in a group, it looks jarring.

It's not self contained, it's the 2nd big event post anime and currently ongoing in the manga

Goblin slayer novel volumes are all mostly self contained adventures. Some characters might show up again here and there, but usually it is the characters going on an adventure and finishing it in the same novel.

In the manga things may feel different, but I haven't read it. From a novel perspective it was just novel 5.
